"Games used to be on cassette tapes"

Anybody remember playing the first Nintendo games and when you put the game in and it wouldn't work you'd have to pull the game in and blow into the bottom of the game and into the Nintendo and then it would work?

My very first game on PC was Doom I was 6 or 7 I loved that game I actually still play it from time to time..

I don't think we ever had an Atari. I am 27 but I remember my first one is the regular Nintendo and Super Mario Brothers & Duck Hunt

The very first FPS Game

I remember one game where you had to blow bubbles and jump on the bubbles and ride them up to the next level, Does anybody remember that game?

My first PC was a Windows 95 too I do remember playing the Berenstain Bears game where you had to do math problems and stuff and then my dad snuck and put Doom on the computer and taught me how to play it.

Ah the old N64... Playing Super Mario to that "1,2,3-4-5" song... Memories.

Then Goldeneye and Pokemon (i never finished that game).

First games on PC? We were always slow (and still are) with getting on the tech train..

I think Flight Sim was the first, then Simfarm, The Sims happened to be very popular with our family.

Gameboy and Super Mario.. The days....

I miss the simplicity of that stuff, basic graphics and controls - nothing flashy.

Can somebody change the forum title to "Old people reminiscing how things used to be"?

lol just kidding. I actually like this topic better than the original. I remember being super excited to go to my cousin's house because he had duck hunt on NES. I thought it was incredible.

I don't think I even had internet until middle/high school. And then it was dialup and we couldn't use the land line at the same time... lol

I donno if I was in middle school or not but when we got the internet, we also had dialup (had to, AOL was still cheap and they only had dialup)....started with Windows 95 and AOL 5.0

Old people :p come on now. Still, that was nearly 15 years ago when i started the tech diet.

Dial-up up until like 4 years ago, and then limited-use wireless broadband.

Living in the country and away from the town meant either sh*t internet or sh*tter internet.. 9 minutes away from fast speeds :(

When I was in 8th grade my English teacher actually bought my Original & Super Nintendo from me. In his class there were only 4 of us in his class that day so he gave us a free day and while in class he decided to call his wife and see how she and the baby was doing and he told her about buying the systems and ooooh did his wife get mad, She got so mad at him for buying them, You could hear her over the phone yelling at him when he called her and told her about buying it

My mom got AOL for me for my 13th birthday in 1999.

That was actually where I met my very first girlfriend in an AOL chat room she lived one town over from me.

I only used AOL to find girls there were times where I had 10 or 15 chat boxes open at once, I actually met my now wife in a chat room on AOL when I was 16 during that multi-state power outage we had back in 2003 the power was out at my house so I went over to my dad who had power and I was in a chat room and I met her.

My dad was the first to have DSL but he always had a separate phone line so it didn't matter but my mom had it set up so if somebody called while you were on the internet it kicked you offline, That used to make me so mad because unlike today when you were chatting with someone or on a website it didn't restore when you logged back in.

I dug out my old N64 the other night after talking about this here and played WWF No Mercy all night

Here's what's going on with strippers and squeakers:

http://www.heavy.com/games/2013/10/stripper-flirts-video-gta-5-awkward/

I'm not big on griefing, but I'd simply HAVE to either start shooting up the Vanilla Unicorn, or at the very least ride my Akuma, or a stolen motorcycle or Fagio right into the club and make everyone inside panic, just to hear his reaction.

Last night there was a guy on the mic teaching his 4 or 5 year old (maybe younger) daughter how to swear.. "bitch ass nigga, say it."... She repeated to the best of her ability but the worst part was the slithering farm animals in the lobby that were egging him on.. "tell her how to say "f*cking Ho!"... and he obliged.

We all know how that kid is going to turn out unfortunately.

Ohhh those were the days, or when it finally loaded and you tried printing it on those slow printers. Every time I printed something it was like I was playing Russian roulette hoping not to get caught... lmao.

...when i were a lad if you wanted porn you had to walk for 5 miles alongside an active railway, dodging trains and debris thrown by passengers (who all knew what we kids were doing). then if you were lucky enough to find some intact and not utterly welded shut, you'd have to wrestle anything from vole to a badger for what they believed to be nesting material.

bruised, battered and often half frozen i'd then have to sneak my prize home without father seeing. for been a goodly christian man he would surely have killed me in my sleep.

"try telling that to the kids today and they won't believe you."

holy sh*t its so f*cking eerily correct.

but you never touched that sh*t out there, your brother/father/friend had a stash usually a couple years out of date.

I had Pong in '75. My dad worked for IBM so I had the first PC in '78. Got the Atari 2600 for Christmas '80. And porn was found like Dorcy said or swiped from friend's uncle. First porn movie I saw was on 8mm.

I remember installing windows 3.11 on a Msdos PC with 12 floppy's.

After a whole day work I got the message that floppy 12 was broken. I'll never forget the disappointment I had.

HAHA! I remember those days of frustration. My dad still has Windows beta in his boxes of old stuff. It is on 5 1/2in floppies.

whenever you hear some1 breathing into the mic heavily they're probably at the strip club

I'm hoping the heavy breathing is because they wanna fill the bar but feel too weird to actually flirt with a game character or something

cuz it could be something else entirely :miranda:

I don't doubt it one bit...

When I was 13 porn wasn't that easily accessible we had to view it on a 56K Modem and it took an hour just to load one picture and then you'd have to hurry up and log off because you think you heard your mom coming downstairs or if you got lucky you could see a boob in the scrambled channel

When i was 13, to see see porn you had to sneek behind the counter at the local drug store just to get a peek at the cover of a Magazine.........which usually resulted in getting busted by the owner or clerk.....sometimes i would get lucky and find a magazine throw from a car window along a old dusty road.........

I've had an Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Gameboy (B&W), Game Gear, N64, Sega Genesis, PS1, PS2, Dream Cast, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, N3DS.......currently still have SNES, Gameboy, PS1, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, and N3DS

I go back a bit further than the Atari 2600 .........I started with the Pong Consoles in the early 70s........then in the Mid 70s I got a Coleco machine that was triangle shaped and used gaming cartridges that were triangle shaped......each one had three games on it.. then came the Atari 2600, 5200
