Hey COCKSTAR! Why is the night sky so grainy?

Riddle me that. I'm not talking about the stars but actual artifact dots in the night sky. Looks sh*tty as hell. How did they let this slide? Takes you completely out of any little immersion that this disappointing game delivers.

It's the 16-bit colour mode that's causing it to have so much noise. If you look at darker colours, you will easily notice the 16-bit colour mode, they have a green look with noise and abrupt transitions between colours. There's nothing you can do about this until the PC version (that is, if they actually put effort into making a good PC version).

It looks completely normal to me. Maybe it's your television?

I've noticed that, people blame the game yet they have a a television that doesn't exactly support modern gaming.

Or they haven't calibrated their television so it doesn't give the picture it's supposed to and they complain. I don't know if this is the case here, but I honestly haven't noticed anything wrong with the night sky. It looks quite beautiful to me.

BINGO! See I'm not crazy. That makes sense now. The night sky looks like crap unless you put the brightness down so low that you can barely see the character in front of you.

Could also be the quality of the HDMI cable from what certain sources tell me. I'm having the same issue and now I'm thinking of getting the official Xbox 360 HDMI cable to see if it fixes the problem.

And besides the lights at night are far more beautiful at night. Especially when flying over Los santos.

It's Rockstar, jerk!! .. a determined effort to pick a silly issue for no reason. That is not important.

I'm trying to tell him it might be his HDMI cable, if it's a cheap 8 buck one like I have, it's going to have some pretty terrible results. The official Xbox 360 HDMI cable will do wonders i'm sure.

HDMI isn't a composite cable, digital signal is the same regardless of the cable build quality.

It has nothing to do with the HDMI cable, this 'official' cable must obviously be overpriced and marketed as 'perfect'. HDMI only matters on version, the cords are the same, cheap ones have the same quality as expensive ones, it's typical for high-end companies to market theirs as 'better'. Chances are the manufacturer is the exact same for both the cheap and expensive ones. Any version of HDMI will work, since the console will only render up to an upscaled 1080p resolution. It's the 16-bit colour rendering system GTA V uses to ensure the game runs smoothly (even though it still has terrible lag problems). As I said, nothing will fix this problem until the PC version comes out, which will utilise higher colour bits, until then, nothing can be done to fix the sky, it's not the display or HDMI cable.

Not sure if you're serious, and therefore a f*cking idiot, or some sort of terrible comedy genius.

I'm hoping it's the first one.

Signatures are dumb anyway.

It is only a disappointment to you, because you over-hyped for the game. What do you expect on 8 year consoles?

Old? Damn then you really must be old (cockstar is around for like 1-2 years)

Cockstar sounds like the name of a gay porn site.

You really must be familiar with gay porn sites then. I enjoy gay sites, but only when females are in action.

Anyway that is way offtopic.

Personally I didn't find grainy sky. Could be color settings on your TV.
