I will be editing this guide to make the formatting better but to the best of my knowledge this guide is accurate and complete. I completed the game to 100% on Nov 1st, 2013-- I used my social club page as the primary source for this guide. I looked over a mission list on IGN and also consulted some youtube videos to clarify which missions are the planning missions for heists (i.e. a mission branch) and which missions I did NOT complete due to taking the opposite job branch.... I included each mission branch in this guide. The below list of main story missions is the exact order I completed them in. Many of the missions can be done before or after I did them so your mission order may vary.

 

For all the NON- Story missions-- there is a common misconception that you can complete any of the Strangers and Freaks, Misc, Hobbies & Pastimes, etc... this is NOT true-- you HAVE TO complete specific missions for 100%-- the only section that doesn't require specific missions are the Random Events.

Apologies for not updating this post.

 

There are quite a few issues that can impede your quest for 100%.... I frequent the troubleshooting section ALOT and have come across quite a few.

 

TURN OFF AUTO SAVE-- use the quick save on your phone instead.

 

Missing (game skips) story missions-- I have not read of these occurring recently, so hopefully this has been patched-- I did experience this bug... My game skipped the mission "Meltdown" for Solomon-- there have been a variety of reported missions skipped. The only work around for this I've found is to save often and to utilize multiple save slots-- that way if you get to a point where a mission is missing, youcan go back to a previous save so you don't have to restart the entire game-- the way I do it. The game keeps sorts the saves by most recent-- so utilize the first 3 save slots as your current progress-- Turn off auto save-- Utilize the quick save feature on your phone and save in your 3rd slot each time (this will move to the top slot after you save). Continue to do this. Every 5 to 7% of game progress-- create a new slot (meaning your 3rd slot will move down and mark your progress)--- and continue to utilize the top 3 slots. Be sure to let the game finish saving before exiting the game... the save icon will spin as it saves and it can take up to 10 seconds to save and sync up to the social club-- failure to do this can corrupt the save.

 

You should finish the story at about 60% or so depending upon how many side things you did.... the credits will roll after the final story mission (but there are 4 assassination missions that can be done after this)--- you might want to consult my 100% checklist (in my sig) if you want to check your mission progress occassionally-- note that the story missions can be done in slightly alternate orders then the order I did them in....

 

You can check you missions completed by creating a social club account and linking your XBL or PSN ID with it,

 

Tonya Towing Missions not triggering- I have not experienced this-- these are side (strangers and freaks) but are required for 100%-- Some report calling her will trigger them. It is possible that story missions unlock the later ones.... Some could also only be available at certain times of day.

 

Dom's Last mission (Uncalculated Risk) not triggering- This one has occurrred differently for different people-- My advice-- Do the following for Doms... After the mission for Dom where you race him down Mt. Chilliad-- Save.... Immediately do all of his parachute jumps AS FRANKLIN (12 of 13) except for the star bank one... Save in a new slot before you do the star bank one... then do it. You should get the final Dom mission marker after completing the Star Bank.. if not, reload and retry or do something else and come back to that one... DO NOT SAVE if you complete the star bank one and Dom's final mission does not appear after this... there has been a reported bug where if Dom does not land on the truck that the last mission won't spawn.... not sure if true but it is best to be prudent. Another thing you can try after doing the star bank jump and Dom's last mission does not appear is to go to a safe house as franklin and go to sleep (it will prompt you to save--don't just exit out of this screen and it should advance the clock several hours--- look for the ? at the dam for Doms last mission... repeat, repeat, repeat.. keep doing this for a while and see if the icon spawns--- if not reload til before you do the last jump and do something else (come back to it later).

 

 

(IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO TURN OFF AUTO SAVE for the above- if you rely on your autosave slot, it will save after completing the star bank one and if you don't have a way to turn back time (reload)-- you can lock yourself out of 100% if Dom's last mission does not trigger. As soon as Doms Last mission marker appears... DO IT (it is very short).

 

The other bug reported with the parachute jumps is that after the mission where you blow up the trains-- the parachute jump where you land on the train does not work since the bridge the train goes across is destroyed-- apparently it will repair after a few missions but depending upon when you unlock the jumps, it may not be available to you.... once again... important to have a save to go back to if this is the case.... I would do All of Doms jumps in a row... don't do them at different times (except for the Star Bank one mentioned above)...

Thanks for the comments-- a mistake was pointed out to me which I will fix shortly-- for the "Big Score" subtle approach-- the mission "Guantlet 1-2-3" should be "Prepare for the Big Score"-- I must have got that mission title from IGN's list as I did not take that approach-- I have since verified the proper mission title by checking my friends accounts on Rockstar Social Club... fixing shortly (PDF version too).

Just wanted to mention that I have updated this a few times as I have discovered a few mistakes in the Jewelry store heist and in the Merryweather heist-- mistakes were predictably in the paths I did NOT take when I played through.

I also got my PDF printer to work and so managed to get the PDF version down from about 4MB down to under 50 KB-- and it is also up to date.

I was so happy to find out the sub pieces and nuclear waste weren't counted for 100%. But all the letter scraps and spaceship parts are, which are a lot harder since there isn't a radar app on those. Anyone can view their own progress on Social Club.

Watching TV is not required for 100%.....

 

I imagine you have to watch longer then 10 minutes if you are trying to complete this-- I imagine an in game day (48 minutes) would get it to register.

Hey everyone! I love this game but I really want to finish the 100% checklist because I know that there is more to do once this is completed. Right now, I have 94.05% of the checklist complete. The only things I need to finish are the Hobbies and Pastimes which I have 38/42 done and the Miscellaneous section which I have 12/16 finished. Now, I am pretty sure that the Misc. section is not complete because I still have some more "knife flights" and "under the bridges" to finish. BUT, as for the Hobbies and Pastimes I am pretty sure I never did all of the street races or the bail bonds. I have beaten the game in the sense that I have 69/69 missions completed and I feel that because I "rushed" to finished the missions that the side missions (street races/bail bonds) are unable to be accessed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. (Yes, I checked the Social Club and the unhighlighted boxes are the street races and bail bonds.) HAPPY GAMING!

I used to always get the 100% in GTA, this will be the first i don't, I don't know yet if you have to get 100% in each mission ( I'm assuming you do), but I'm not going through each one and trying over and over . and finding each ramp to jump on, this GTA is way harder than the last, I didn't struggle to find ramps in the last one, and especially hitting them trying to make it a success in this one is way harder somehow. THe ramp at the airport I hit with Franklin when i was in the GT40 ( not sure what its called in the game), and i used his special and was going as fast as you could, I was in the air for literally minutes, I wish i could of panned out and saw how high i was, when i reached the peak of the jump i just sat there for so long, I was like a mile up in the air. If you haven't tried it go there and do it! its awesome. I have the xbox one now and when cool things happen I'm so used to saying xbox record that, and i forgot it was the 360 and kept saying xbox record that, xbox… RECORD THAT, XBOX RECORD THAT!!! oh yeah, its the 360. darn it. The record that feature really is cool, and i so wish this game was out for the xbox one and they had the trade in that you paid $9.99 and got the xbox one version.

You don't need 100% on each mission... There is a trophy/achievement for getting 100% (gold) on 70 missions (story or S & F)

OK I found out what it was and now I have completed all hobbies and past times & all strangers and freaks so now I just need 2 more items in miscellaneous. Its the stunt jumps I haven't completed i'm sure but I'm damn close. 98.2%!

Should just be for one-- I only did shooting range and flight school for Franklin.

 

Have you created an account on the Rockstar Social club and link your XBL or PSN id with it.

 

If not, do this and then go to your game and start it up and then save... within a minute, your data will sync to the social club.... go to this page...
