For Female Avatars..

Is it just me or is everyone going to play as females now? Maybe I should delete my female and play as a male character. The only purpose I have chosen an Asian female character, is to have an unique character with no doppelganger or twins.

 

But now since everybody else is gonna play as female character, it will defeat the purpose of having an unique character. However I don't care if I play as a male, female, alien, zombie, robot or different ethnicity. (white guy playing as black or visa versa)

In the second week it felt like I was the only female avatar around, I do see more these days.

Don't be jealous because my avatar looks better than yours! JK, not sure if I will, it was kinda inspired to get more money from the stimulus pack, but also something different. I almost always play as a male, only exception would be ME3MP since some classes are female. But I don't know if I will go through with it. I barely made rank 44 yesterday. I think it will take a while to get her up to par. TBH, I haven't seen too many female avatars in my sessions.

I dress my female character up all the time. Actually I never go into a mission, survival, race, etc without dressing her up. Same with my male character.

Holy $h1t. The comments on here are unreal. I had no idea that folk would get the hump with female avatars, I don't get it?? It's not like Tomb Raider is an unsuccessful franchise now is it?

 

It's part of the game. A GAME. A playable character. Male or Female these avatars are not who I am, it's a freakin game!

Maybe but at least you'll know that you were one of the first ones to do so. I had my mind made up that I was going to play as a female character. I was honestly surprised that I barely saw any. It was an anomaly to see any other female chars in the game.

 

I see your frustration though. I also kinda want the female thing to be a minority. It loses its value when EVERYBODY does it. Kinda like buying an Adder and chroming it out. Soon enough it gets unpopular. I hate to sound like a hipster, but it's my opinion. +1 for spotting that out. Oh and hey, I changed my makeup to 'natural look' so I look more serious. I don't want to look like a generic asian barbie doll. Thanks for adding to this thread

1. I have plenty of self esteem and don't need to identify with some avatar on my screen.

 

2. I am quite comfortable with my sexuality and don't give a sh*t if some guy struggling with his is confused by his attraction to my female avatar paired with my male voice.

 

3. If I'm going to spend so much time playing a game I would much rather look at a female avatar. You would rather look at a male? Should we be questioning which gender you are attracted to?

The real question is WHY do guys want to be a female in a game anyways? Is there some kind of Ladyboy infatuation going on? Gross

I had no idea anybody would get so upset I made a female character. There wasn't anything underlying my decision besides I just played three male characters. Much more fascinating is what disturbs you so much. There's something downright Freudian I think.

 

 

Sexism in gaming is a huge problem. It reflects the larger society, though, which is why most unevolved dudebros don't understand why they're being douchenozzles. It's invisible to them because misogyny is rampant.

 

Someone in this thread said there are no girls on the internet (I know it was a joke but some people really think that way)... well, there sure as heck are women. I've had game consoles since Pong came out so I'm probably older and been gaming longer than 99% of the sexist gamer boys have been alive on earth.

 

So you never know who you're talking to, or how long they've been playing, or how old they are. And it really shouldn't matter who you're playing with so long as everyone is having fun.

 

When people make sexist or racist comments against other players online, it's because they're insensitive, immature twits. Not the player being hated on's fault. Makes me want to start a vigilante character gang so we can exterminate the bigots every time they spawn. Maybe then they'll learn a lesson or go play somewhere else.

Seriously doubt this will be the case, I reckon at best 5-10% of the avatars at any point will be female. The gimmick of playing with the opposite sex will always be trumped by the male player base's sexism and homosocial tendencies

But most of the clothes are awful.

 

The camisoles make you look like an old woman.

 

Bustlers make you look like you belong in a brothel.

 

Tank tops are slutty since there are only 2 ones that are not cropped.

 

Skirts are meh.

 

Off-shoulder tops <3

 

Leather and denim jackets are cool

 

Hats are awful

 

Limited shorts options

 

Terrible dorky bike shorts

 

Horrid-looking bummy sweat pants

 

Nice array of jeans

I avoid the camisoles and the bustiers like the plague.

 

The black/white non-cropped tank top is fine, but you're right about the others.

 

My female character kind of dresses "butch-like" (polo shirts and baggy jeans for the most part), so I've avoid skirts of any kind because of that fact. Some of them wouldn't look bad for another character, though.

 

Agree with the off-shoulders and leather jackets. They need more of these. Actually, they need more jackets in general. Maybe even some military & trench coats.

 

I kind of like the forward caps, but there's only two that I've seen. All the other hats are bleh.

 

All they have are hoochy-mama shorts and I've never even looked at the bike shorts.

 

The sweat pants look pretty good with a hoodie. In fact, hoodies are also good to rock on some occasions.

 

Love the variety of jeans (Skinny + Baggy). They need some torn jeans though.

 

Shoes are good, but is it possible to wear thigh-high boots without having to wear those terrible shorts?

 

Also, this game could do with adding some decent t-shirts that don't all have those godawful v-necks.

 

It'd also be nice to be able to wear a suit jacket, while also being allowed to wear a shirt (not the t-shirt, but the buttoned up shirts) underneath.

And hair physics. There is so little hair movement. No hairstyle blows in the wind. I think only the ponytail has a tiny bit of physics to it when the player is rapidly moving.

I figured that's why they didn't add any long hairstyles in this game because of the hair physics. Either they're too lazy to animate hair or they're unable to animate it (or in the case of the ponytail, unable to animate it 'much') because of all the other things the game has going on.

 

I don't know. I wouldn't mind stiff long hair. As long as it looks halfway decent, because most of the hair styles are awful.

The only passable ones are the ponytail and the one in the shape of a bun.
