Front License Plate?

I noticed that some of my cars don't have a front license plate. At first I thought it depended on the design of the front bumper, but it seems to be random...

 

The only thing that might determine if a car has one is whether or not you change the style (black and yellow, white and red, etc.). Maybe if you don't change it, you don't get a front license plate?

I dunno, are those even required by law in the United States?

 

Edit: I live in Canada and not all provinces require you to have a front license plate, but you do HAVE to have a back one.

In CA I heard its required, im not really too sure since I don't really give a sh*t when it comes to vehicle laws (like the "no tint on the front windows" bs I have 100% all over(back windows, 70 on front sides).. I have both front and back.

 

 

Edit: I just looked it up and yes its required by law to have it on the front in CA which the game is based off of.

 

Either way its a game so I doubt rockstar even gave a sh*t lol

I live in Oregon, just north of the Californian border by 50 miles, and we don't need front plates here if you don't have a place to mount them. I usually don't put them on my car and have never had a problem. So, not everywhere in the US requires them, but California is a special kind of crazy.
