bounties disappear after approaching

Anyone else notice this happens far too often? It's like they hit the panic button and phone in a mission as quickly as possible.

At least this one guy gave me a good chase earlier today. I happened to be in a chopper when he got the bounty, but he sure as hell dodged every missile I launched. The explosions were so close I could taste the bounty...alas he got away. He made the game more exciting instead of using the easy way out. I was not concerned about the insurance due to the type of vehicle he was driving. 9k bounty and the vehicle wasn't a super so assumed to break even or profit.

Yeah, it's annoying. Some people switch to invite-only to let it run out.

Seems like it defeats the purpose of the bounty system, people should only be rewarded their bounty money if there was more than a 0% chance of them losing it. Public free roam, outside of your apartment/garage, is the only time the bounty timer should be counting down.

For people who want to be really cheap about it, they could just sit on the edge of the map instead of their apartment and change sessions whenever anyone comes near them. At least the chances of being killed wouldn't be 0% though (thanks to fast vehicles and Off The Radar :)).

Agreed, the bounty system is flawed in its present format and ^^^ is a great idea, shouldn't be too hard for it to be implemented. I mean you cant use your weapons wheel inside the apartment so the bounty counter should stop to. Nothing more frustrating than travelling the full map to find the gutless coward disappearing

If i have a bounty on me then i just love to see how long i can survive with half the lobby chasing me, its so much fun lol

Bounties got boring, Simeon car drivers are the new number one targets, much more fun imo.

I find Simeon car drivers to be 10 times more boring, because they don't stand a chance. A bounty only has to protect themselves, and people in a high-priority vehicle have to protect themselves as well. Except they're chained down to a huge object that they can't leave, and they have to protect that thing too. As if that wasn't enough, unlike bounties, you know exactly where their car is heading already. And if that still wasn't enough, they're forced to go into LSC at some point, where their radar and phone is disabled.

What I found to be a lot more challenging and interesting is to try protecting the Simeon car driver from everyone else. If you're really hard-up for cash and want the money from it, you can just kill the driver once he succeeds in getting it there.

Think of it like this: a lot of people are trying to destroy the vehicle, they don't even care if it gets delivered. If you let the driver keep it until he gets to the docks, then you can focus entirely on keeping it safe so it actually makes it there. Even if you're intent on delivering the car yourself, having the driver take it to the docks safely still benefits you, since the car might not get there if you were stuck inside of it.

Either way, it's a lot more fun than trying to kill a sitting duck.

As for bounties, if you get bored of them, you can spice it up by placing restrictions on yourself. Like, killing the bounty with a baseball bat. I've been really enjoying this.
