I think it happens if you hit another vehicle hard enough or at the right angle...I think I've done both lol. The first time I did it I was like wth? Did I just knock that wheel completely off?...WOW! lol...that was somewhere within LS city limits, and I hit the other vehicle pretty hard. The other time I was just west of Paleto Bay, and I'd made the cops mad at me and were chasing me all over the place and my vehicle was pretty banged up, so I wasn't moving too fast, and I went barreling down a hill out of the woods and careened onto the highway and clipped the rear of a passing car and knocked a wheel off. I must've hit it at just the right angle because I wasn't moving very fast at all, due to all the damage on my vehicle lol.

^that's a typical reply in defense of the damage model and collision deformation. you took that car and rammed it about 500 times into a wall or put it front of a train to made it look like that. in this case, you used that Dump to run over the car a bunch of times. then you post pictures as some kind of proof that nothing is wrong about the damage model. we both know what's what happened, so stop bullsh*tting.

 

everyone knows that's what a car will look like after you smash it up a ton. the issue here is the kind of damage you get after one or two collisions not after 500. usually it's nothing more than a scratch or a broken taillight even at high speeds. other times, your car explodes instantly.

 

but even the car damage model itself isn't the main issue, there is damage but it takes time to show. it should be tuned up more so we see its effects at a more realistic rate

i knocked the wheel off my own car before, and drove it for another 10 minutes...pretty funny when you hit the brakes and the whole car pitches forward and you hear the sheetmetal grinding on pavement

 

knocked a back wheel off a banshee too, now that was a burnout machine

My Voodoo was on the railway right next to a poll and the freight train rammed hard into it. It flipped and 3 rims the fell off. The car would look like a regular scrap prop to anybody to be honest. It was that f*cked up and the roof was just flattened.
