I get the feeling that the some shots don't register...

typo in title I know.

 

I am in free aim and I rarely win a gun fight. My cross-hair IS ON the guy (turns red) but 1 out of like 30 bullets hit... (Using complex targeting mode which is by far the easiest)

 

I even try TAPPING the SHOOT button so it goes in the middle. No luck. What is the matter with this? Everyone else kills me so quick and I just slowly put my controller down with my jaw dropped.

 

In GTA4 I could kill anyone easily. But this... This is crazy

The game seems to lag a lot of the time for me. In some lobbies my shots won't register most of the time or will just be delayed, including sticky bomb detonations.. not to mention players warping from lagspikes and what not.

Come on now. I know you wanna help but I'm not a newbie who stands still. I strafe, roll, aim, shoot, etc.

Aim for the face or the back of the face, you know the head area. Usually a couple of well places shots to the face will drop people quick. Now if your aiming at the the legs/torso that may be your prob

If is not lag, its headshots. They're basically a one hit kill.

Okay it may be that I'm not aiming for the head. I haven't really noticed where I am aiming except where it turns red.

I don't know if this is true but do higher level players take more hits? I watched a video where a level 60-ish player was casually taking hits and just got in his car and drove off. I'm only level 18 and I've been in gun fights with much higher players where I've unloaded on them, nothing happens and they shoot me once or twice and I die.

aim for the head...then you will most likely kill them before they kill you.

Your maximum health increases per level and you're also more damage resistant because of Strength, I believe.

theres a health stat, it increases with your level, WHY is beyond me though.

 

but on main topic, THEY AREN'T, most people are so laggy that they end up dominating you thanks to client side hit detection

strenght increases the amount of bullets you can take. Plus higher lvl players have super heavy armor + more maximum health. Skullface, you're lvl 18 so you're armor is still pretty weak

Im pretty sure str effects melee hit damage and how much dmg you take from melee strikes. I never noticed a diff between 20 str and 100 in a gunfight. I still die in 1 shot it seems sometimes.

After I got brutally butchered in Free Roam during a free for all roam, I can safely say that there's definitely issues to be had with hit detection. It's like in Call of Duty and that killcam business. You're the guy who died in an exchange of bullets and see a video of what your killer saw during the kill. On your end, you were shooting a full clip in to his face, yet he managed to kill you in what's normal. But, on his end, you barely even managed to shoot before he killed you. In GTA:O, you can be emptying full clips in to their head, it won't matter because on his end he's not where he is on your end ...

My game was lagging badly yesterday. I ran over a guy and kept my car over him. 3 seconds later it appears him right behind my car aiming with a sniper rifle and killed me with a head shot all in one 1 second. I proceeded to try and kill him and my auto shotgun "missed every shot" but he gets another sniper round off on me and kills me. Reset my internet and connection settings on my ps3, returned back to that session and proceeded to kill him till he left the game.

I had a guy pop up out of nowhere and park a car on me for a minute. for some reason I didn't die and just got up and shot the guy. the last few days have been almost as screwy as the first launch days.

One great weapon for shots that don't register is the AP pistol, amazing rate of fire so you can empty a whole clip into someone before they can fire 2-3 shots.
