[GUIDE] Stock Market, Assassination Missions Guide

Recommended Posts

SmokesWithCigs

I'm in the begin of the game, and killed jay norris of life invader...how to invest?

You don't have to worry about in vesting until you do assassination missions with franklin. Go to GTA wiki they have a guide. Just type in Lester's assassination stocks in the search and you'll find it.

I don't know if it glitched or not, but in my last playthrough i got a 49 & 149% return on the Betta-Bilkington Assassination. Im on PS4 too btw.

Given the interest after the (eventual) PC launch, I just wanted to add that I did this guide over a year ago on the PS3 and the percentages were a little out (as expected with the variation between everyones games), but overall I still managed to get 2.1 billion on each character.

I've just spent an evening running it again on PC and managed to get 1.5-1.6 billion per character. I did several reloads to try and get different outcomes and they did vary a few % each way, but the result was the same. The following are the differences:

I focused on investments after beating the game (as you have far more capital) and started out with 41 million from the final mission plus 500k-2 million per character.

I also did Hitch Lift 1 (Tinkle) first and that capped at 27%.

Multi Target Assassination

[DEB] Debonaire (LCN) at around 80%+ return (PC capped out at 47%)

[RWC] Redwood (LCN) at around 300%+ return (PC capped at 320%)

The Vice Assassination

[FRT] Fruit (BAWSAQ) at 25%+ return (PC capped at exactly 25%)

[FAC] Facade (BAWSAQ) at 30% return (PC capped at exactly 30%)

The Bus Assassination

[VAP] Vapid (BAWSAQ) at 100% return (PC capped at exactly 100%)

The Construction Assassination

[GCD] GoldCoast (LCN) at around 80% return (PC capped at 47%)

For some reason, the 80% returns capped at 47% both times and I believe this is why I didn't max out at 2.1 billion.

I'd be interested to see if anyone can achieve 2.1 billion on PC or if the caps have been changed.

EDIT: Some other things I have noticed are that the percentages still change a little out of trading hours. As Michael (for his 6 hour sleep), try looking at the rises in the middle of the night and they change.

Also, even when you reload the same quick save, the return percentage can change by up to 5%!

Where I've slept/not saved to forward the hours to wait for the maximum return % then reloaded after its has peaked, Ive found its always inconsistent so there has be a formula in there somewhere, not a set scripted amount.

Anyway I ended up with these returns

FRT 25% FAC 33.01%

VAP 100.01%

GCD is only going to be about 50% but still working on this

Edit: Managed to get GCD to a maximum of 55.xx% but couldnt repeat it. Reloaded the save and maxed at 49.xx% before dropping. That happened about 5/6 times in a row. Loaded again and got 52.xx% so settled for that as M and T. Switched to F and it dropped by .50%.

Only have the hitch lift to do and just to keep an eye on the Animal Ark stock as its always in the red so will sell as soon as it goes green.

The guide is good just unsure why I cant match all the figures. Main reason will probably be R* nerfing it. Be interesting to see if somebody can report back also using an XB1 to compare

gpold coast peaked at 39% for me then it started to fall. I'm on ps4

I'm on ps4. I'm playing through without waiting to finish the game before I do the assassinations. If done right you'll get 500 million which is enough to buy everything. I've just did the paleto heist, F and m have 65 million at this point. T has over14 million. Did all the nuclear clean up barrels with m. Here's. The thing I saved an extra file and went ahead and did the construction hit. The GC stock maxed out at 39% which put m and f over 91 million and t at over 20 mil. I read a guide that said I should invest in clucking bell at its lowest and sell after the third option. How much should I invest with each character? Also I plan on investing in fly us after legal trouble and augury for the quiet option after the big score. But for right now I want to know what would be the best amount to invest for clucking bell. If worse comes to worst I'll just start from the previous file.

Here’s my story. Hope it helps you guys playing on PC. I pre-ordered the game so Franklin started out with an extra $500,000 as part of the pre-order bonus. I run a story line only play through as fast as possible just so I could beef up my bank account with assassination missions. I didn’t spend much on guns or vehicle mods and I didn’t play the stock market on any other missions. I pretty much followed this guide word for word, minus not starting on Monday for a couple missions. (Note that I’ve also followed this guide for PS3 and ended up with about $2.5B for Michael.) Here are the results from PC:

The Multi-Target Assassination – Debonaire hit around 46%, not 80%; and Redwood rebounded to about 300%

The Vice Assassination – Fruit didn’t hit the target 50%. It was more like 23%; Façade hit 30%

The Bus Assassination – Vapid did hit 100%

The Construction Assassination – I could only get Gold Coast hit about 46%. I did see it go to 48% but I missed it and cashed out at 46% after sever reloads.

and the Bonus Stock Tip - Hitch Lift 1 – returned a 33% profit pretty much immediately. By the time I drove from the Airport back to Franklins to start progressing time, it was already at 33%. I tested progressing by 8 hrs to see if it would go higher, but after sleeping just once, it already started to decrease. I did reload to get the full 33% and here were the final results.

Michael - $1,688,591,870

Franklin - $1,653,582,435 (Remember I started out with the $500,000 pre-order bonus)

Trevor - $1,585,364,669

Not bad, but the lower percentages here and there did affect the final bottom line. Also as mentioned in a previous post by “TheRealAJH”, just reloading can affect the percentage by a few points + or - .

I got 477.3% from RWC at vice assassination mission (PC version). I keep save and reload, and it spent almost 3 weeks game time.

This also affected in PS4, I can't get max 2.1 after playing construction assassination.

I've observed a strange phenomenon: I've just finished the Bus Assassination mission, raised Vapid stock, and sold all for ~800M total on all characters. Noticing a slight uptick in Gold Coast stock, I tried advancing time by sleeping to see if I could get it to dip, before I bought their stock and started the Construction Assassination mission. However, it kept going UP, not down. So, I thought I would try to get a fund boost by investing in Gold Coast and selling BEFORE I started the mission. Long story short: I bought ~800M in stock for all characters at $298.04. I've been advancing time and Quick Saving to get the best price. I STILL HAVEN'T STARTED the Construction Assassination mission.... and Gold Coast stock is at 730.07!!! I'm currently at a return percentage of +145 percent, and a return profit of ~1.2 billion. If I sell now, I will have ~1.9 billion on Michael (and slightly more with Franklin). Someone else TRY THIS, please, so I know I'm not crazy! I can't screenshot the damn thing, since I didn't buy the game on Steam. I'll update this post when I max out the stock. (First post 10:35 AM)

EDIT: About 45 minutes later, and I've got Gold Coast up to 840.02. (11:10 AM)

EDIT: 15 minutes later, and I'm up to 881.50. (11:25 AM)

EDIT: 20 minutes later, and I'm up to 907.90. (11:45 AM)

Sorry if these have been mentioned, but there's a couple of missions that affect stock prices.

Buy [VAG] Vangelico (LCN) before Minor Turbulence. It gives a 40-60% return. You need to buy with Michael before/during the Madrazo mission Caida Libre. Buy with Franklin before you start Minor Turblance and then buy with Trevor on the way to the plane in the mission.

Buy [FUS] FlyUS (LCN) after the mission Legal Trouble. As soon as you finish the mission, check the stock price and wait for it to dive 50-60%. Invest with all chars and sell after the mission Meltdown. You can get between 80-100% if you get the bottom.

Buy [AUG] Augury Insurance (LCN) before The Big Score and sell after the last mission for 100-110% return. It seems to rise during this time (slowly at first then a good 100% after the last mission). The most I've got so far is 112%

Multi Target Assassination

[DEB] Debonaire (LCN) at around 80%+ return (PC capped out at 47%)

[RWC] Redwood (LCN) at around 300%+ return (PC capped at 320%)

I'm playing on PC, and I've just only get: 45% and then 150% :( The first percentage is Ok, but the second... :( I don't know how you can get 320%. I followed all your steps. And as you said, I started on monday.

At Monday 8AM I invested all in Debonaire. Then I do the mission. I finished the mission at 13:40. At 16:20 the stock picked 45%. Then I sold everything of Debonaire.

Then, I invested all in Redwood. And I had to wait 7 days, till the next monday, when the stock picked 148.21%... and then started to go down, and down, and down... So the max for me was just "150%".

I did something wrong?

Here, you can see the pick value. 148.21%

fg9umub.jpg

And here a detail of the progression:

I started the mission on Monday, and the next Monday grow up till "150%". Then started to go down and down.

vie: friday, sab: saturday...

Does the calculated risk mission affect the markets? Am i supposed to invest in someting?

Can somebody answer my damn question

Psst this isn't [email protected], so you won't get an instant answer, especially in 5 hours(ish).

But to answer your question, not as far as I'm aware, I've not seen or heard anything to suggest that this mission (Uncalculated Risk) effects stock markets.

Buuuut, back to the topic. I'm just about nearing the end of my second clean run through, so I've done a full check on Assassination Mission 1 now, and when I've done the rest I'll update the topic which should be in the next week or two. I'll compile all the results along with the other tips that have been left within this topic.

I'm pretty sure Crokey answered your question right there with the second line.

You could have saved yourself some time and looked through the rest of this thread to find the answer, though, it's on page 3, in this post from Ribon. He specifically states that he played through all story missions on two different games, checking the markets after each mission, and he posted his results. The mission you asked about is not on that list.

Hello All

I've updated the opening post to reflect the changes made since the Next Gen/PC versions. After checking the replies in this topic, there seems to be some slight variances in the returns, however, I think patches may have affected these.

I'm still working on the How To guides for each mission, but in the meantime if you spot any changes or errors, or if you want to invite me to your sisters wedding, then feel free to let me know.

I just updated Crokey's guide that he allowed us to host on our site (grandtheftauto.net)--- http://grandtheftauto.net/gta5/stock-market

I tried to edit it somewhat for clarity and also added for each to immediately do a quick save after each mission so if you screw up the sell part, you can reload and not have to redo the entire mission.

I also added the expected drops and rises for the other story missions as listed by ribon in this post--- http://gtaforums.com/topic/642910-guide-stock-market-assassination-missions-guide/page-3?do=findComment&comment=1066260854

and I did note that some of the "returns" are repeated-- meaning you can only get a return on them once....

For example-- Ribon's list showed the following...

Legal Trouble

FlyUS -50.20%

Meltdown

Richards Majestic -50.03%

FlyUS +100.69%

This looks as if you can earn a return on FlyUS twice-- once after the Legal Trouble Drop (when it comes back up) and again on the Meltdown Increase-- these are actually the same--- It drops after Legal Trouble and does not rise backup until meltdown.

It looks as if these are the same also--

The Jewel Store Job

Vangelico -29.76%

and

Minor Turbulence

Vangelico +42.57%

The amount of increase after the drop works out to the same amount of the increase for this stock.

I have not had time to go back though and verify any of this since my initial playthrough on PS3 back in 2013 (I did use this guide back then)-- and got between 1.9 and 2.1 billion per character-- so I cannot confirm any of those are the same-- the amounts matching up just seem to be too close to be a coincidence to me.

If any mistakes are spotted on the web page-- please let me know.

Spuds

Thanks to Crokey for all the work on this and everyone else for sharing their returns...

Technically yes, as I've mentioned they can be a little hit and miss, so you ay not get the full pay out, if you get a pay out at all, but as with most things stock market wise, they should only react to the actions you've taken.

Bought 300k in VAG stocks. ugh, waiting on Minor Turbulance to sell though. LONG WAIT.

Also I missed out on BILK stocks at $90 a share soon after Ass. mission 1.

I'm hoping it dips back down again.

However, it looks like you sell them after Derailed. I'm guessing the increase will still be the same %, so in theory, it should not matter when I buy BILK stocks.

tis a long wait. is that list of missions on the first page with about 6-8 missions the most accurate list? No other missions (been tested by more than one poster) effect stocks??

That's the list I've been reading/going buy so I just also wanted to make sure. Thanks.

-- What stocks have you guys bought and sold? Asides from the assasination missions?

The only one I'm adding is Fly US, BILK & VAG. LFI is super cheap but it appears it just continues to drop. Maybe after Monkey Business I'll buy it...

I wouldn't bother buying any BAWSAQ stocks other than the ones detailed for the Assassinations Guide as the BAWSAQ prices have been frozen and haven't moved for months.. R* know but don't seem to care.. :-(

I already did the first Assasination mission (oops but only a 24% pay out).

IM FINALLY ONE MISSION AWAY FROM MINOR TURBELENCE,

WHICH MEANS, I CAN FINALLY START SELLING AND BUYING VIABLE STOCK.

i've been sitting on VAG stock the entire game lol. I wish someone would've told me don't invest in stock the first 40% of the game.

I'll also be buying and selling Fly US stock.

Perhaps Cluck n' Bell after it plummets. As far as story missions (outside of the 3 assasinations), these seem to be the only ones worth playing with.

Anyone have similar or different experience on this?

I also finally hooked up BASDAWQ, but it's been 12 real life hours and nothing has updated...

af, fawk. This explains it. *le sigh* I think I only dumped 100k, and I bought ones that were $2 or less.

-- LCN stocks, who bothered with the extra stuff? It seems to me only the assasinations plus FLY US + whatever you do for the final mission are the ones worth much.

I experimented with other LCN stocks, and 'my game' is one where nothing fluctuates beyond $2-$3 once I purchase it. Before I purchased the stock it was moving. I think I got the same algorithm as others so I'm not expecting anything else.
