[GUIDE] Stock Market, Assassination Missions Guide

I'm getting the same. Maxing out at profit of 21%

I want to reinvest in Bilkinton as well but I doubt it will rise myself. Seems like things have altered in regards to investments.

Yup, stock market has changed, 21% and the bilkington stops at 3,4.. No billions anymore...

Awesome guide, going to have to use this as soon as I can get the energy for another 100% play through. My first I didn't maximize the stock market at all.

It's only going as far as 21% for me as well, shouldn't it go up to 80% Edited by Corndog93

I'm getting max profit 21% on Betta Pharmaceuticals and then around the 2% mark when reinvesting in Bilkinton after. Anyone else?

I don't know if it's by sheer dumb luck, or Rockstar did not change anything, but I just got a return of 363% for the Redwood stock for assassination number 2.

I did the save forward time thing once and saw it sky rocket. I saved it, and then went back to the old save to see if I can continue the climb but it was only at a measly 3%.

Hence why I'm thinking sheer luck of timing.

My investments after the Assassinations are hardly moving. Both the Bus/Vice one didn't even move. Hmm.

This is at 48 hours for the Bus Assassination.

EDIT: Bawsaq literally is not working at all for me. I've only made money on the the first and second assassination which leaves me at 60 million. Hopefully the Construction one works as well as the Hitch Lift.

I don't want to start the single player again because Bawsaq sucks.

I have only done the first assassination mission so far. I have done tests and the max payout I get for Betta Pharmaceuticals is 21% and then reinvesting in Bilkinton the maximum return I got was 72%

Does anyone else have similar figures from the first assassination mission?

Maybe there is an issue with Bawsaq causing the investments not to hit returns similar to those on OG?

Hey everyone,

Keep the reports coming in so I can correlate the difference's and add notes to the guide (reasons given in opening post edit), if you've got any work around keep them coming in as well.

Thank You.

Before meeting Lester with Franklin I invested all in Betta Pharmaceuticals, first with Trevor, then switched to Michael, then Franklin. After investing all with the 3 characters I started the mission, drove to the hotel, killed the target with the sniper, drove away. Franklin automatically calls Lester. After the call I checked the stock and the profit was 21% (this is seemingly what the maximum payout is. I have tested it and it has always been 21% on PS4) I then sold all my shares with Franklin and reinvested in Bilkinton on the LCN. I then switched to Trevor and did the same. After Trevor I switched to Michael and did the same. What I then did was run tests on how high Bilkinton went so the best method I can suggest is saving with Michael. Check the stocks profit percentage. I got it to max out at 72%. I did this by continuously reloading the save. After every load, check the stock. Then cash out at the 70%+ mark. (N.B I had already done the Epsilon missions with Michael prior to the first assassination mission. Therefore having an extra couple of mil to invest with him)

more stuff on Liveinvader and maybe Heist stocks...

Right, here's a guide. As I say I've no idea if this will work but you can try it.

After the Life Invader keynote mission and the shares plummet, I went straight to Franklin and invested my 500k. This is BEFORE Lester emails and tells you to. Right after the mission.
At this point, the shares should still be falling for the next week or so, but head to Franklin's house and save your game.
Wake up, and the shares should still be falling. They start off at around $27 dollars right after the keynote IIRC but after they will start falling through $16, $10 and on mine they've fallen as low as $3 after a week. In my experience the value doesn't matter, sell them anyway.
Go to your portfolio, click Life Invader, press sell and then sell all. This will take you to a confirmation screen, which in my experience now shows that you're making a profit. Sell them, save the game. Wake up, buy, save. Sell, save. Etc. The profit should be rising at a ridiculous rate each time. Over 10x, I think, but I wasn't really counting.
You will hit a point, after about 10 times of this, where you can't sell your shares and the Sell All button won't work because you've hit the cap. In this instance you can sell a substantial amount, after which the sell all button will work one final time, leaving you with around 2.1bn. After that you'll be stuck with about 54 million shares which you can't get rid of.
Now, after this I discovered this also works with Michael and WITHOUT saving. You can just buy, sell, buy, sell, right after one another, and watch it tick up, without having to save. I started with 8 grand on Michael, did it three times and was at 500K. I stopped there because I don't really want to make the whole moneymaking schemes of the game pointless. (Worth noting I also invested with Michael right after the LI mission too. Don't know if this would work if you hadn't.)
That's a really rough guide I know but as I say I really only stumbled across it and wasn't paying that much attention to what I was doing. I think the key is investing right after the keynote. My friend also recreated this on both characters with those instructions. Neither of us have done any of the heists or assassinations or have Trevor available yet, so this is kind of game breaking that early on.

sounds like what was happening to both my Liveinvader and Vangelico...
it went up like 500% in between missions after I reloaded. It said it went up 120% but when I only invested 1 million and when I sold the shares just 1 time I got 6 million!
It was something to do with resetting the game making the stock go up. It happened after Dead Man Walking. It's weird because after I beat Three's Company, the stock crashed again....
I wonder if it's a bug like...
-Liveinvader crashes after story.
-Buy the stock, save, reset the game.
-When you reset the game, Lifeinvader forgets that it crashed and it reverts to original price
-But then when you complete another mission, it crashes again because it remembers that it crashed in the story.
Something like that could explain why it's going up during free roam after reloading, but crashing after story missions..
Vangelico is behaving similarly, too.
I'm not entirely sure yet but I do know for sure I made 600% profit in 1 time and my Franklin has 7 million now after Dead Man Walking lol

i've heard people say it works after Friend Request, Fame or Shame, and also Dead Man Walking... i'm not sure how long it lasts.

i've been able to repeat it pretty reliably (though often the % return is different and the game % is also different and totally wrong)

and other people have had success repeating it, i've seen at least a dozen or so ppl post that they've either got it to work once or been able to repeat it as much as possible

I just did it after dead man walking, no saving or reloading, just invest and immediately sell all. I repeated this til i maxed out at 2.1 billion. Then switched characters an did the exact same thing.

Ok so i just finished the story. I have about 40 mil on each character. I am now on the multi target assassination mission. I invested on DEB all 40 mil on each of the 3 characters before accepting the mission. I completed the mission. I go to sell my stocks, The return percentage is at 81% roughly on all 3 characters. But when i sell all my stocks for DEB i only get back 38 MIL....? How do i get back 38 mil if i invested 40 and my stocks have a return of 80%???

^ So do you mean wetto you sold all your shares and only got 38 mil back total. Or did you get the 38mil as well as the original 40mil invested. If its the former thats not good at all.

Im starting to go through SP now. Did the first lester mission and got a return of 20.9% only from Betta. Seems to be the cap. There was some funky stuff going on though. I waited initially to see if it would go up any further and eventually it went down so I reloaded my save and tried again. This time it would only go up to about 5% and no more. I had to load up a save from further back (before the hotel assasination) for it to go back up to the 20.9% after the assasination. Keeping an eye on Bilkington afterwards it took a few days to go down. Lowest I have seen is about $210 per share and a max of about $235 so may not be able to get much out of that stock.

I can confirm I made 400% on redwood rebound. Bilkington works but you have to load in your save game. Fruit is a lot lower. Facade rebound is about 50%. Vapid is good but not as large. I made 26 mil from the final heist. I hit 2.1474 billion before the construction assassination. Even though I sold Gold Coast my profit is capped at this number for all of my characters.

So should I invest in BP before the first assassination mission to get some cash ? Or do it before the redwood one ? Which one is more profitable?

That advice about investing in Bilkinton works on PS3 but not PS4, I nearly lost a lot of money

http://uk.ign.com/wikis/gta-5/Assassination_Investor

NOTE: The following information on Bilkington Pharmaceuticals applies only to players on PS3 / Xbox 360. The market values of the Hotel Assassination have been severely reduced in the PS4 / XB1 edititions.

Fortunately the game did an auto-save after the assassination, so I was able to load this and make about 36% profit (stock price went up to about $350) on all 3 character's money invested in Betta

It later went up to $390.61 and has stuck there ever since, so maybe anyone reading this should wait before selling to maximise their profits!

I will save the other assassination missions until after 'The Big Score' as otherwise there is no way all the properties can be purchased...

I got a slightly different result from hotel assassination.

21% from betta, this didn't change for 3 says. However Bilkinton started around 209, dropped very slightly for first 3-4 days, then approx 7 days after the mission dropped to 92 and I bought on all 3 characters.

It dropped a little further (89 min) then started to rise slowly, after another 4-5 days it went up sharply to around original levels, I stuck in for another couple of days and sold at around 245 for about 150% profit. So total turn around time was around two weeks post mission, it may have gone up further but I chickened out!

Hey All,

My first time playing GTA V and I absolutely love it! I’m playing on the PS4 and here are my results so far:

Betta Pharmaceuticals – approximate return +21% after Mission 33 – The Hotel Assassination (Lester Mission #1).

Gruppe Sechs – approximate return +40% after Mission 38 – Caida Libre. Tip: Not sure if this is a glitch, but in my game this stock fluctuates heavy, always purchase this stock if it’s near its weekly low point which is around $102 in my game, and then sell for $150 (returns of up to 50%).

Vangelico – approximate return +40% after Mission 39 – Minor Turbulence.

Bilkinton – approximate return +90% after Mission 44 – Derailed. Tip: Wait until Bilkinton reaches a weekly low-point before buying (this was around $12 in my game), but even if you miss it you can still make a 40-50% profit.

FlyUS – approximate return +80% after Mission 60 – Meltdown. Tip: I didn't buy this stock at it's lowest point but still made a good return. Best to buy after it reaches it's weekly low point after the Legal Trouble Mission.

Gruppe Sechs – approximate return +30% after Mission 65 – The Third Way.

Notes

Prior to investing in the stock market, as others have suggested I would disable the auto-save feature. Save manually using the quick save option on your phone and also create a back-up save in case things go wrong.

Stock prices and mission timings may vary; the above results are based on my game. Always check the stock market regularly to avoid missing any opportunities.

Props to Crokey and Ribon for the tips!

I just did the Multi-Target Assassination on Xbox One last night and the stocks didn't rise for me much after the mission so I reloaded my save from after the mission and the portfolio for the Debonaire Stock was at around 403% I can't remember exactly and forgot to take a photo, anyway I went from 25 mil with Michael to 187,582,992 invested that in redwood and then after the redwood stocks rose back up I sold and I'm now at just over 780,000,000, anyone else encountered this? I took a photo and linked it below of the money after I sold each stock with Michael showing the Lester marker for the next assassination mission

sorry for the poor quality I just took quick snapshots on my iPhone. the image is quite big also so will just post the link if thats ok, I will remove if needed

Ok, so I followed the instructions from the IGN guide last night (PS4):

I did 'The Third Way' finale, so each character had about $30m from that plus whatever they had beforehand (about $1-2m each).

I invested all 3 character's money in Debonaire stocks and did the multi-target assassination on Sunday.

I tried to make sure it was Monday in-game when the stock-market was open, nothing is supposed to happen with share values over the weekend.

This isn't mentioned in the guide but someone recommended doing this on here (starting the trading on Monday) which is supposed to be important (apparently share prices peak toward the end of the week).

After the first save on Monday the price went up to 35.37%

After the second save on Monday, it rose to $75.91 which was close enough to the 80% rise mentioned in the guide so I sold the shares.

I got a $23,585,264 R.O.I. from that for Franklin (I think) and then bought the cheap Redwood stocks and switched to M to do the same and then T.

As Trevor I saved once (12 hours) on Tuesday and the stocks went up by 8.63% making $4,802,500

I saved a second time (still on Tuesday) and the stocks went down by 1.79% losing $1,000,520

I saved a third time (now Wednesday) and the stocks went up by 8.49% making $4,722,456

I saved a forth time (still Wednesday) and the stocks went up by 5.83% making $3,241,688

I saved a fifth time (now Thursday) and the stocks went up by 12.67% making $7,043,664

THEN:

I saved for the sixth time (still on Thursday) and the stocks went up by 333.69% making $185,496,680 :santa:

I have bought all the remaining properties, Michael bought the golf-course and the 3 cinemas, Franklin has Smoke on the Water, LS Customs, the towing impound and the scrapyard, and T has all the bars (except Hookies which only M or F can purchase).

I just need to buy the hangers ($1.378m), helipads ($419,850), and marina slips which are only $75k each (but don't come with any boats)!

Money won't be a problem as Michael still has $37.8m, Franklin has $235.5m and Trevor has $238.3m

I haven't done the other assassinations yet, I will do them but don't need to worry about making money on the stock-market any more

So I finally completed all the main missions on PS4 with about 41 million for each character. Like everyone else, I had only gotten 20% return on Betta and about 75% return on Bilkington. But all other Assassination missions got me the same returns as described in the OP (I ended up with 2.1 billion per character) so I think it's only the returns on the first Assassination mission that's changed.

Im at 180 million each for Trevor, Frank and Mike after Redwood went up 292%..

Am I on the right track to go billionaire?

It's my first playthrough. I'm at 65% now.

Edit: Just did the next one, invested all in Fruit bawsaq pre-mission, got 50% after.

Facade was down to -17%, got all of those and got 30% profit after just 1 day.

All 3 characters at +- 370M now
