Off the Radar is a joke.

Luckily the people at Rockstar probably play this game, unlike some people in this thread, so they're never going to allow one person to gain 5 minutes of radar invisibility in free-roam while everyone else is still visible.

If you want to enjoy that experience, what you should do is go into your settings and turn off your radar the next time someone is trying to spawn kill you. I'm sure you'll turn it back on in less than 5 minutes, and then you'll say "oh, now I get it."

You only need to use Off The Radar against someone else one time, or have it used against you, to know that 1 minute is more than long enough. Anyone who thinks an extension will ever happen, never mind thinking it's a good idea, hasn't played the game enough.

Yeah when you have a bounty on you for 9k, someone's hauling toward you at full speed then disappears....that minute is going to feel like forever to you while your running and not knowing where they are. And anything can happen in that short minute.

Its fine how it is.

That's true. So I wish they'd completely rehaul the free-roam mechanics instead. Remove blips from the radar by default and have a more realistic and dynamic noise and Line of Sight based blip system.

Then the Lester ability can be switched to 'see target' and all would be well. :)

that's the point. THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES FOR YOUR ACTIONS. If you get a bounty placed on your head, then you've typically done something pretty stupid to piss off a player (or some criminal activity in the case of a ped). So it's only fair you should be sh*tting bricks not knowing where the Grim Reaper is going to show up......

Now why should the system make it any easier for you--the obvious perpetrator---to escape? :miranda:

1 minute invisibility with a 5 minute cooldown? Really?

I was looking forward to this, I thought I could finally get a normal looking car, dress my character up in normal clothing, and pretend to be an NPC, stalking and sneaking up on bounties and smacking them with the baseball bat.

But nooOOOoooOOOo, that would be fun, and we can't have that.

Being able to always see everyone is bullsh*t from the very start. What is this ADHD, constant action, never a quiet moment garbage anyway? It doesn't feel very much like you're part of the world when you blend in as well as Charlie Sheen at a preschool.

It isn't anywhere near as useful as I had hoped but I think the limitations are extremely necessary and aren't limiting enough to remove its strategic value. You just have to be smarter about how you time it.

There should be servers where you only appear on the radar if you're causing a ruckus ie driving wrecklessly, attracting police, firing your gun.

off topic, but BF4 is incredible, such an awesome change of pace from this trainwreck. It's non stop action. you guys gotta go get it.

I don't have a high end PC, so there's no point in me getting it for my failbox. During beta, the map was so small, only three control points, 16 people, and complete texture failure left and right. Not to mention the constant dips below 30 FPS, that's no way to play a game...

Off the radar is perfect for sneaking up on bounties and quick escapes, Lethal in LTS too. Any longer than 1 min would be OP.

Really wish there was a Hardcore mode so I could get my stealth on properly!

The solution is to make the blip system "Far" like in GTA IV. They can see your blip when you are on the other side of the map but once inside snipe range your blip is not visible.

I'm not into hiding behind 5 feet of armor with a cannon attached to it. Enjoy your n00b sub-par shooter that doesn't even qualify as an MLG game.

Yeah, I loved this, and only ever played on this mode. Along with proximity chat. Good times.

Omfg! YOU CAN USE OFF THE RADAR IN LTS?! :D

I never even thought to try, 60 seconds in LTS should already be OP as f*ck.

I'm going to be having some fun later tonight. Thank you for that.

Try it in the Lazer LTS, Activate stealth mode then flank the enemy jets. My mates didn't know what hit them lol

considering i make quite a few thousand every 2 weeks, 60 dollars isn't a concern, fa**ot.

btw, the f*ck do i care if the game is for f*cking 12 year old school drop outs.

Sounds like you want an advantage.

I can do some amazing stuff with 'off the radar'. It's great when getting revenge.

Don't want constant action? Invite only session. Stop getting mad because you can't kill people unfairly.

And good luck "stalking players" with a baseball bat even if all the players were hidden. Who the f*ck doesn't run or drive a 100 MPH? Especially with a bounty?

Not everyone plays like a crazy person, driving around at 100mph constantly throwing stickies and firing their uzi out of the window for no apparent reason.

But you can always spot the people who do play like you do. Because your cars are always completely busted and look like tiny little scrunched up raisins.

I understand you just unlocked this ability and expected to be perma-invisible, but frankly, that would be retarded.

The ability is incredibly lethal already, it's the ultimate offensive and defensive ability. When you use it right, it guarantees you win every conflict and can accomplish any goal versus other players. The only thing that can even begin to combat this ability is itself, and if you're still on your cooldown when they use it? You better be finding an amazing defensive position where you can see every direction they can come from, because they're near you somewhere and they know where you are and which way you're facing.

It should be 5 mins with no cooldown and up the price to 1k and make it easier to activate.

5 min duration would be better :)

Two people who have never used this ability offensively, and have never had this ability used against them, so they don't realize how ridiculously powerful it is to be invisible in this game.

You can't see them, but they can see you. You're going to get killed at least three times before those 60 seconds are over. You can accomplish literally anything, and then some, in 60 seconds of radar invisibility.

one minute is plenty of time to claim a bounty.

Yup, it's more than enough to do anything, a few times over. You can be sailing towards a bounty in a jet, use Off The Radar from 2 radar-lengths away, and then parachute down to his location, snipe him, call the mechanic for your car, get in, and be driving away with time to spare.

You can spawnkill people a few times, and they really have no way to stop you (other than using Off The Radar themselves).

This is easily the most OP ability in the game, which is why the people who use it properly love it so much. It's basically God Mode.

I love off the radar. My only beef is how long it takes to activate.

First you gotta cycle through the names list on the phone, call lester and then activate it.

Wish we could just put in on speed dial.

That would be great.

This is an ability where timing is critical for maximum effectiveness, and it's most useful in emergency situations where you're about to die, so I could see that. I use it for every bounty I hunt, just have to call Lester on the way there and keep it ready lol.
