XB1 and PS4 both have changed architecture. No more does the PS have the proprietary and hard as hell to code for Cell/RSX and the Xbox no longer PowerPC.

 

It has NOTHING to do with the type of media... f*cks sake it doesn't matter how it reads the data, HD, USB, DVD, BluRay or a f*cking floppy disk. They vary by random/sequential read/writes... end of f*cking story.

 

They can't be backwards compatible because they both are based on X86 now.... Ever played with emulators? It takes about 10 times the power of the original system to emulate it... and often that isn't enough.

 

Go look at Xbox (original), PS2, and even N64... Some play decent on your $5000 machine some play like horse sh*t.

 

PS4 will someday have gaikai streaming old PS3 games (PS2 and older they can likely emulate)... but let's face it Sony has told more lies then Steve Jobbs did about his daughter (over 99% of you f*cking iPhone loyalists heads)...

I thought the xbox 1 was for retro gaming and the ps4 was for watching dvds

Same here. I'm still waiting for the game to come out for the Wii U. Any news on when they are doing that?

And for all the people bashing next gen that's fine, i have money to get it so why not..

 

The main game i play is NBA 2k..in case you haven't seen that on next gen that's enough for my purchase alone.

I didn't really see any "bashing." I sure as heck wasn't. It just seems that with new system launches you have a couple of launch games that are really good (BF4 I anticipate will be one which is why I'll buy) and the rest are just rushed messes that aren't worth the time. For some people the new systems are prohibitavely expensive to justify buying at launch for one or two games.

But for someone like me who only plays a couple games it makes sense. Nba looks amazing as does battlefield, and i like playing call of duty here and there so since i have the money I'll get it...

 

The only reason i care about gta is because I'd rather have more money in my pocket lol, i just wish it could be downloaded onto the new console which doesn't seem too complicated.

Yea it's pretty dumb, I'm staying with xbox mostly because of forza..the systems really aren't that much different lol, but if you go on any Facebook post by xbox you'll see Sony kids on there starting arguments still it's actually pretty funny

True, but for me this whole issue is not a problem. I waited to buy a Ps3 slim, at half the price and double the memory. Considering how much problems both consoles had at the beginning, for me it's just smart to wait to buy for at least a year. Games can always be bought later and release games rarely impress enough to risk having a 3 month old console die on you.

I preordered off Amazon and got the warranty, and only reason i did was because of nba..

 

I didn't get the 360 till 09 so i could wait but i have a nice little job now so it's pointless to wait now lol
