Anyone else a little upset that gta:o released about a month before next gen? It sucks because not only is there other games i want to try, but now i have to keep my old xbox just for gta lol.

 

but, it will be funny because i bet there will be a few idiots who sell their old consoles then come on here to complain about not being able to play gta on next gen.

 

And also, anyone have any predictions on when (if ever) they re-release gta for next gen? Because from what ice read there's no plans as of yet.

Had they not had all the technical issues with the launch of online I doubt they'd been worried about next gen right now. When the PS3 and DeathBox released the launch games were pure turds.

 

Edit to add: However, I think some may be more apt to jump ship and move on for "newness" despite the fact it will probably be underwheliming like the last new system launch was in the opening weeks/months. I will buy a new system, but I won't be expecting much, and I sure as hell won't be seeling off the current ones to do so.

Most games aren't in development for 5yrs+ though. By the time they were aware that PS4 was coming they probably couldn't be bothered starting even more development for another platform.

I didn't really see any "bashing." I sure as heck wasn't. It just seems that with new system launches you have a couple of launch games that are really good (BF4 I anticipate will be one which is why I'll buy) and the rest are just rushed messes that aren't worth the time. For some people the new systems are prohibitavely expensive to justify buying at launch for one or two games.

Xbox is moving to a blue ray player so since old 360 games aren't blue ray it makes sense...ps3 to ps4 i don't understand...but really I'm sure its just to make more money.

They can't be backwards compatible because they both are based on X86 now.... Ever played with emulators? It takes about 10 times the power of the original system to emulate it... and often that isn't enough.
