South Park: The Stick of Truth

So is anyone else interested in this game? I've been a fan of South park since the beginning and I have to say the game looks pretty cool and true to the show. I don't think I like the turn based fighting tho, but I'm definitely gonna get this....

Unfortunately, the game has been delayed once again. It would've been released in December, but now it's been pushed back to March 2014. It will be released for PS3, 360 and PC

Anyway.... This trailer just made me laugh. Especially Jimmy lol

And the gameplay trailer...

It looks like a decent game, but I don't think the genre/audience match is good.

I don't see people who watch South Park wait a turn for example, I think real-time combat would've worked better.

I'm looking forward to this.

Is it still 360 Ps3?

Is it going to next gen too?

Haven't gotten into a full on turn based fighter since Final Fantasy 7, in which I got stuck on the first disc.

Obsidian have made some real stinkers.

Edit: just watched gameplay trailer, I'm all over this.

One of the few games I'm starting to look forwards too.. just the humor alone really sells to me. Is this going to be on current gen or next gen?

I'm just hoping it's not going to turn out to be a flop, lots of hard work is going into this by the looks and sounds of it all.

Couldn't agree more. This turn-based fighting looks very slow paced and tedious. Real-time fighting would've been awesome. That's really the only complaint I have about this game at the moment.

I also wonder how long this game will be. Will it be like other normal RPGs with loads of side quests, the freedom to go where you want and when you want, and no real ending in sight? Or will it be a very short, very linear game? I guess we'll have to wait and see...

And for those asking... The game will be released for PS3, 360 and PC only. No info about next gen version...

If this game ever comes out, it'll be epic. This is, what, the third delay in a year?

It's a game where most of its praise will probably come from the writing/humor (which is why we watch South Park anyways). I doubt the gameplay aspect will win many awards. Then again, it can be surprisingly good in most aspects. Wait and see.™

"South Park: The Stick of Truth has gone gold after years of delays.

Publisher Ubisoft announced Wednesday that the Obsidian Entertainment RPG based on the animated comedy show is finally on its way to manufacturing, set to hit PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on March 4 in North America, March 6 in Australia, and March 7 in Europe.
The firm released a new behind-the-scenes documentary starring South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone to celebrate the occasion. In the video, the pair discusses the process of partnering with Obsidian to ensure the game's look and feel was identical to that of a South Park episode. They don't mention its first publisher going out of business.
The move from now-defunct THQ to Ubisoft prompted one of many delays for the game, which was originally planned to launch in the second half of 2012. Ubisoft announced in October that South Park: The Stick of Truth needed a "major overhaul" after it acquired the game"

On-topic: I can't wait for this! I'm planning on getting it for the PlayStation 3. Also, if anyone is interested. Check out the preview from CVG

I've just pre-ordered this game for PC. I am a big fan of South Park, I love RPGs so it's totally a game for me! IGN said that this might be the best licensed game ever, so I hope it is really epic :)

So, since this is the only topic I could find about this game, let's revive it! (If there is one I missed, please move this)

It's out now for a while, and personaly I love this game! It's holding me from GTA online for a couple of days now. (I only play a few hours a week, because of work).

I never play RPG games, the last one I did play was Golden Sun (who remembers?) on GBA. But with Southpark I really like it. I don't mind the turn based fighting, it does slow the game, but the great variety of fighting moves makes up for that IMO.

I've watched every episode of the series, and it is so much fun to see all kinds of stuff from the series back in the game. The humor and the story is really good. It's like you actually play a long epsiode of the series!

I think I'm about half way thru the main story, maybe a little furter, but that's because I try to do all the side-quests.

More people playing this game here?

Greetings,

Commander Douchebag
