God, Trevor has got to be the worst story based character from anything i've ever seen. Atleast the Saints Row character is from the SR, which isn't meant to be taken seriously. Trevor is as much of a victim as he is an aggressor. I know it sounds cliche, but he definitely had a diffucult childhood. I'm not sure if we even got any information about his father, but from the little we seen of his mother, she wasn't exactly a good influence. She was probably mentally unstable herself, since Trevor mentions that they "let her out". He was ostracised, pushed away, bullied and looked down upon his whole life. And I also think that, deep down, he doesn't enjoy being insane very much. He knows there is something wrong with him, but he can't stop it or help it himself. His illness sometimes held him back, when he wanted to better himself, do something sensible and worthwhile. For example, I don't think he only wanted to "drop the nuke" when he applied for the Air Force. I think he genuinely wanted to be a pilot. And once again, he got kicked out because of his illness. Then Michael came in and he finally felt accepted for the first time. And then he "died". Couple that all with his mental sickness and you've got a recipe for destruction. I wouldn't be surprised if Trevor, pre-betrayal, was somewhat more collected. He obviously was a sick monster even then, but I think he went even more nuts when left on his own.

 

If Trevor had a normal childhood, with caring family and received psychological help, he wouldn't turn out so badly. Maybe he would end up in a mental institution, but he definitely wouldn't exhibit as extreme behaviors.

 

Anyway, on topic, I doubt anyone would be able to hold his own against Niko. Maybe Michael, if the fight was a pure shootout. I'd give Johnny in 2008 a shot too, but otherwise, I don't think anyone is able to match his skills, experience and combat intelligence.

Trevor would win with noticable or slight difficulty. Niko is a war veteran, yes, but from a country that is militarily inferior to Canada and the United States. Air Force training includes basic hand to hand combat, training with firearms, and, in the case of Trevor, advanced flight. According to the flag he has in his trailer, he was to be put into a more specialized unit, meaning he would have recieved even further training than mere basic would allow. Undoubtedly better marksmanship, hand to hand, and flying skills would be necessary before even being considered for such a unit.

 

It is my belief that Trevor prefers the sheer brutality of basic swings and kicks. Either that, or Rockstar didn't think that his military training would go well with the psychopath they were trying to represent. Another thing. Trevor's rage mode may be a in-game ability, but it is used to represent what his maddened state would do for him. Make him more immune to pain, deliver harder, faster strikes, and more importantly, eradicate his opponent with the utmost ease.

 

Trevor took down several fully-trained, well-armed American troops as well as multiple tanks by himself. What makes a single war veteran from a worse-off country any different from his countless other victims?
