MadsHilde
I just started playing online yesterday. It's a bit confusing but I'll probably get used to it. What I thought was a bit frustrating was that other players would kill me on sight when just roaming around the city. I thought it woukd be fun to see others players in the city, so I drove around to catch up with them. As soon as people saw me, they would open fire. If this is how it is supposed to be, it's quite alright, then I just have to be prepared for it and do some shooting myself.
BuyMeTheMoon
Usually it's like that, but I give people a chance before I open fire because I want to make friends rather than killing people off(I really don't see the fun in doing that that more than one time..) But I mostly get killed even with a friendly attitude.. 9/10 times at least But sometimes you can be lucky and join sessions with mostly nice people, I actually experienced that this weekend, and it was the first time ever in a session where I didn't get randomly killed by other players! The most fun I've ever had online so far! Edited October 29, 2013 by BuyMeTheMoon
SkyWest1218
It's not *officially* supposed to be that way, but that's what it tends to become with certain people. Personally, I don't shoot people until they shoot me, but some people are paranoid and fire off a couple rounds before they themselves can get greased. Then there are the twerps who just go around killing one person after another because they can. Those are the people that will really drive you nuts. My advice to you, since you're a new player, is invest some money in a motorcycle or a Sandking (in terms of upgrades and armoring), or anything else that's fast, or good at off-roading (I have a highly-tuned Bati motorcycle for when I'm going to be on open roads, and a Sandking for when I'm out in the rough or the mountains. Point is, have a vehicle that will suit the location you'll be in if you want to make an effective getaway). Of course, you'll need to buy a garage to store it in safely. And lastly, get good with a pistol. Quick. That's really your only chance at surviving more than ten minutes in most cases, but after a while you develop a sort of "radar" or "sixth sense" as to who is going to beat you down and who is just gonna cruise around with you for a while whilst wreaking havoc on hundreds of unsuspecting pedestrians. Either way, yeah, if you're like most (reasonable) people, you'll get used to it pretty quick and become pretty adept at fight or flight. MadsHilde
Is there any penalty when getting killed by other players? Do they get any penalty? How about bad sport, when and how should I use that?
Harwood-Butcher
Is there any penalty when getting killed by other players? Do they get any penalty? How about bad sport, when and how should I use that? 1) No, only if you blow up their personnal car for no reason. 2) 'Bad Sport' is the system that penalises you if your doing wrong ie. blow up other peoples cars, not completing missions etc. You can blow up someone elses car if they have a bounty on them though.
