How can you do a mission....

When a player runs you down every time you move? They make it impossible to play. I just logged off and probably won't bother with the online mode.

Try solo. Level up, get some good guns. You can play quite a few missions in solo, and leveling up can be quick which opens more solo missions. Online lobbies can be brutal, but I have spent hours in an online lobby with little or no molestation and I have just walked out of my apartment and been shot in the head. Its part of what makes it fun. Once you have a contact, Gerald, Martin, etc, you can call and request a job, it will pop onto a text and then you can select the job. Once it launches, you won't be attacked by any other players. You have to level though for certain contacts and most jobs.

^This. I had internet issues myself when first playing the game (would get disconnected after 10-30 minutes of play, never sure how long it would last and I didn't want BS points for 'quitting' missions on others), so I played solo until I was around lv15-20. Once you have access to grenades, especially sticky bombs, those annoying online players aren't as bad (though watch out, blowing up others' personal vehicles is considered being a bad sport). Getting to the point where you can have an SMG with a scope helps too, as pistols lose to almost any other class of gun due to their poor range.

However, if you buy your own garage or apartment (the cheapest 2-car garages are around $25k), you can spawn in your domicile every time you enter a lobby, and just wait inside for a little while or call your contacts to get a mission without even walking out to a potential assassin.

lol, I treat it like one of those bullfights. I stand in the street, they charge, I move at the last minute, then open fire.

Try it, very easy.

doesn't work if you're on a mission though, friendly fire is off

had this happen once or twice, usually I just leave

one time every1 in the game got together because some guy kept messing up the mission by running people over or blowing up their cars

we just ran him over until we ran out of lives, he left and we finished the mission

That sucks. I wouldn't just give up on GTA online because of one person though. Find like players on here and just do private sessions or go into a public lobby with your friends. Never hurts to have back up and then you can cause a ruckus as a team.

I think if someone runs you over during a mission they are a idiotic child who thinks they will get more kills and thus feel better about the fact that mommy doesnt love them.

First get onto single player mode...Then go to online but select INVITE ONLY SESSION...

It's the only safe place you can be plus every time you finish a mission you return to your OWN session rather than w/other people

Don't get me wrong, I haven't had too many problems w/other characters but I understand what a pain it can be to always be paranoid that the other ppl are trying to run ya over.

Plus, the solo mode is basically a blend of SP w/all the online benefits.

PS, after you finish a mission or multiple missions w/someone and they are opting to go to free roam...DO NOT GO! Most times they do that then the second u spawn together they gun you down n take that hard earned cash (happened to me but tank god for only like $1000)

Apparently it's the newest way for no-skillers to get that "all important" K/D ratio up. If you arrive first, and are taking cover behind your car (as I often do), they kill you by ramming you.

+1

Yeah I am running with Solo Session atm.

Purely for leveling up and getting use to the online environment / setup / layout etc...

As soon as you enter Public Lobbies, you get chumps chasing you down for sh*ts and giggles / trolls.

So chump clipped me, I re-spawned and clipped him back and took his car, feelsgood.jpg

Bought an apartment and again, some chump is buzzing and wants in... Dafuq!

invite only session dude...

So for Invite Only Session, do you need at least 2 players?

Or can you go solo and just invite yourself and do the mission yourself?

Could be worse, it could be one of those clowns who likes to shoot the tires of your car.

Just play by yourself.

I've had a few clowns on missions but just as annoying is how bad some randoms and friends are. They don't take cover and die. If there's a truck to deliver they flip it. Riding with them means crashing every 15 seconds.

It's fun to have company on missions but with few exceptions it's faster and easier to do them alone.

It drives me insane too, but I'm a high enough level now to kill players that annoy me the smart way. Once you've unlocked Merryweather's mercenaries there's nothing better than watching the tv in your apartment, calling the mercenaries on the person that's just killed me, and then watching Weasel News as they're under attack lol  Trust me, it gets better... and join a crew, when you're in a session with crew members they tend to watch your back!

I've encountered a player like this, he kept running me over and over until my character died. I mean, in a MISSION? Are you for fking real, I wouldn't care if he did that in freemode, but aren't we supposed to be team mates in a mission? Jesus.

Especially in the lobbies, they can be very brutal. A simple shopping spree can turn into a blood bath in 5 seconds. Make sure you're ALWAYS alert around your little radar. If someone's approaching fast 2 blocks away from you, they're probably in a speed chase from the cops (or in a heli). Be on guard anytime, don't let any player near you unless they are a friend (or crew) 99% of the time it's all for the kills. Join a crew, and make friends! It's always good to have each other's back in a cruel community like GTAO. It gets more fun if you level up and unlock rifles and stuff, kills them easier than SMG lolol

So much this. I expand my radar every 30 seconds just out of habit from when I first started out. I was a level 5 in a lobby full of 50-60-70+ lvl players, I learned very fast that for the most part its kill or be killed. Now that I'm lvl 38 the number of people who run me down for the hell of it is getting smaller. I'm also a very passive player for the most part, I even send people texts in the lobby to say I'm not trying to grief them. Have made several good gaming buddies this way

I sympathize exactly with the OP. I feel its stupid and childish for someone to just go around killing new players entering a session. Its not fun. Its not exciting. I stay in solo and invite only modes and only venture into the others to see if things had changed. I was disappointed.

I recently just joined a crew so at least I'll have protection from the wolves. Damn, this reminds me of some old prison movie instead of cool, fun playing game.

Invite only is the best thing next to solo. I have a cousin who hates regular sessions so we team up and do missions, survivals, races. Its good to have a cool online buddy to help, watch your back. There's this cool cat who helps me from time to time in lvlg up, he's like a lvl 110 and I'm 34.

Good guy gamer! Hah. And yes, that's so true. I stayed in passive mode when I started playing GTAO and when I reached level 15 I got out of it and played lots and lots of survival to level up my shooting skill and rank up. When I get on, I usually check the list of players of what level they're on. If I'm in a lobby full of 80+ & 100+ ranked players I get out. They usually raise hell with their tanks / annihilator / jets and whatnot. And the paranoid checking of the radar!! It's a habit now :D especially when you're going to the car shop. Some people love to stick sticky bombs on the side of the door and bomb your newly modded car. This is where the insurance is most important :D

Ha, maybe you were being an ass and deserved it...either way some asshole that thought he was a bad ass in his feltzer rammed me off the road twice because I had better driving skills in my schyster fusilade, and was going to arrive at the mission spot before him.

When I got there I ran his dumbass right the f*ck over, laughing into the mic hysterically all the while. Then him n his pussy buddies bounced and left me to the mission alone. Too bad for him, I was good enough to pass the mission alone and got my prize anyway.

Don't try to be a mission controller who is an asshat and you won't suffer any consequences.
