Vote Kick Option

Hey everyone. I've been having fun playing GTA Online... up until today. I ran into a couple of really nasty in game griefers that really upset me, mainly cause I was trying to get some game time in before logging in for work. I REALLY wish R* would implement some kind of method to vote kick bad players.

The first incident was on a mission. For some reason, this one player took it upon himself to shoot his teammates car tires, slowing down the mission progress. Then when we finally got at the mission site, he proceeded to run everyone down with a car. Really needed a vote kick/ban!

The second was after I bought my first apartment. I logged into my apartment, then drove out of the garage... only to have a car parked blocking my movement completely and getting shot. Later the same person mugged me when I tried to move the car out of the way. We need some better policing of the servers, or give a mechanism for players to do it themselves.

Please bump if you agree.

Would be very hard to implement. In a room of 16, you might be the only one he bothers so no one would have any inventive to kick him. Play invite only or let him feel your rath. And I think during missions you can kick someone but I'm not sure, I know you can in the lobby so it would make sense to have it in mission.

This has happened to me a few times and it just shows how weak and petty the other guy is

You can report the player to R*. Won't do anything in the short term, but in the long term it might help others when it comes to matchmaking?

Vote kicks will get abused and with the option to join other lobbies griefing in free roam shouldn't be an issue (how much of a hardship is it to change lobby if you want a peaceful time?)

I get vote kicked a lot. I never understand it though, because I'm never doing anything to anyone. I usually just play survival or deathmatch but whenever I'm in freeroam I get kicked randomly by "other players."

the last time this happened I was going for a crate and I was inches away from claiming it and I got kicked at the last second. I don't know how or why because it was only one other guy I was fighting for it.

I too have been vote kicked for no apparent reason, it has abated recently and has not happened for some time? I am not even sure how to do it, nor would I want to, someone griefs me "you're gonna have a bad time" or a good time depending on how they look at it. I had one guy even come after me for almost an hour at which time I killed him 11 times.....I left because I felt bad for him, but couldn't lie down for him. I have also been totally wrecked before as well. Vote kick is lame, for the most part. However, griefing on a mission is totally unexceptable, that has never happened to me, yet, but I would quit immediately and report the person to R*, I have a feeling bans are coming soon and the more reports on a person, the more likely they are to be banned. I would also log a player review to microsoft or whatever the playstation equivalent is. That way you will probably never see them again in a online lobby. Capture screen shots as well, they can help in proving your point to R* use your camera phone.

I was kicked from two matches early yesterday, simply because someone didn't like my name (BountyBoard), or maybe they thought I looked at them wrong? Two separate matches, BACK-TO-BACK! The first time, I was like, "really..? Well, fine, then..", and when I came back to get kicked the second time from a completely new group, I was really pissed off, to say the least. No reason at all for it. I hadn't killed, or even looked at anyone, in the first match, and the second time, I honked at a guy for driving by me recklessly..

There are going to be nasty players (those who block your exits and shoot you in the face, and those shooting out friendly tires on missions, which I have experienced... that dick. He thought it was hilarious - I reported him for griefing, though). My advice is simple: Find New Session. It gets you away from d-bags quickly and easily. As for missions, there is a kick option, and if you have chat, you can tell your other teammates why you wish to kick him (and of course, always report them; It'll help in the long run).

I absolutely HATE the vote-to-kick option. It's terribly abused. I've been kicked four times since GTA Online went live, and not once for a good (or even obvious) reason. People just seem to hate me sometimes, even when I'm not shooting them in the face from 400 yards away... I had an incredible, shockingly accurate (seconds of "...did that just happen? I did that?!?) sniper headshot on a fast-moving car last night.. had to get that in there ;) /self-five

Best 7k Bounty shot I've ever claimed, and probably ever will claim!

Anyway -- I hate kicks. Mostly abused system, rather than helpful. Bad stuff. Do not want. Make it go away, please.

Guys I'm pretty sure the vote kick message is an error with the game, or you have connection troubles. I've had it happen to me instantaneously after joining a session. I wouldn't make a big deal out of it.

Only thing I would like to see is all the millionaires who exploited the bike glitch put into a cheaters lobby for a month or so.

Press start -> Online -> Players -> then select the player you hate and press 'kick'. Dunno if it works, and not many people seem to know about it, but if you have 3/4 players voting to kick this guy it will probably work.

Babysmuggler, when my internet drops (and it often does), everyone simultaneously leaves the session I'm in, except for me. It doesn't give me a message saying that I've been kicked (it says it's a cloud server problem); that's when a player decides to be a dick. I was kicked again today, for no reason at all...

I'm starting to think that it's groups who want to play with only their friends, and that they don't realize they can make an invite-only session with them -- ignorant d-bags.

Edit: If I don't vent this frustration, I'll have to punch a baby. I was just drivin' around a new session for about 2 minutes, before I was blown up by a sticky bomb (by a passing player, whom I was not interacting with) and then kicked from the session. This 'vote to kick' crap is out of control.
