HOW'S ANNIE?
As well written as the HD universe games may be, the one thing they seem to have missed is the ability to be the boss, to actually have control of the underworld around you. What makes people still love Vice City is the fact that by the end you're at the top of the food chain. Yet Niko, Johnny, Luis, Huang, Michael, Franklin and Trevor haven't really attained that status. With some characters it's understandable (e.g. Niko and Michael), yet even with characters like Johnny and Trevor where the story tried to make them feel as if you had control over people, it never really worked. Obviously if they return to the criminal kingpin story, it will have to go back to one protagonist since it wouldn't feel right for 2 or 3 to share all the glory. The protagonist should be capable of going to his gang hideout (similar to the Lost MC clubhouse) and recruit his own men, who gain for experience the more you take them out with you. Bring back the GTA 2 style respect meter, where enemy gangs will either decide to go into business with you, or place a hit on your head. The property purchasing should be bought back too, yet with ability to upgrade them. Say I buy a sh*tty cab depot, I should be able to spend money to improve it, like deciding what cars they drive, how experienced the drivers are, spend cash on advertising, hiring security to protect from gang/enemy attacks. Or if I buy a house, I should be able to buy a new/better TV or decide to put a fancy pool tabel or dart board in it. The drug dealing side missions from Chinatown Wars should return as well, being effected by the respect meter. Or maybe if I decide to destory an enemy meth lab, meth becomes a more profitable commodity. So I want to ask, does anyone else want the next GTA to focus on empire building/being a crime kingpin? And if so, what type of suggestions can you offer as to how Rockstar can implement new features to make it feel right?
Zello
I would like to see the ability to use the docks to smuggle things in maybe your rivals are all talking about a big shipment coming in and then you come in and steal it. Or using the Highway to rob drug traffickers More stuff with Businesses and properties It would be nice to be able to decide who I want working for me a veteran that knows all the ins and outs or an unproven rookie hungry for the green. It would be cool to use your businesses as fronts maybe you have a funeral parlor and you can use the dead bodies to smuggle drugs or a repair shop that works as a chop shop for car parts. Bringing back burglary missions being able to sell the stuff at a pawn shop and maybe take some copper wires from homes late at night and sell them to scrap yards no questions asked. Making alliances with other gangs or backstabbing them for new folks and maybe make random ones form up so after you take out the old ones the game wont get stale and you always have to keep your guard up even when its peaceful because anything can happen. Journey_95
yeah I agree I really miss that boss mentality of Tommy Of course he also had to do missions for some crazy f*cks but at least there were enough missions you did for yourself to build a criminal empire hopefully rockstar will return to that in GTA VI
Lock n' Stock
I guess GTA V's protagonists did sort of make it with the loads of money they got off heists and the property they purchased, though they're not exactly under control of a city as much as Tommy, CJ and Vic were. Wanted Assailant
Tommy never really felt like a kingpin because he did all the work himself and his notorietydidn't feel that impactful.
