MasterM1337 Posted October 29, 2013 Share Posted October 29, 2013 Hey guys, I am MasterM and i am the owner of a indie company, My dream was always to make a shooting game that revolves around gangsters. So i had an idea to make a 2D topdown GTA game for PC, MAC, LINUX, IOS and Android but before i do anything i like to research a little first. So my question to you is : Would you play a 2D gta game that is a combination of Gta advanced and Gta Chinatown? A game where the story revolves around a good boy from a good family turning into a gangster, the game mainly shows how criminals are made nowadays, how even a hard working individual can become a public enemy when life spits in your face. And most of the times in games the story is brought in a fantasy way, in this game we will try to bring everything as realistic as possible. That said, I hope I'm just part of the minority and there are many more people interested. Best of luck with your company. However considering how much piece of crap is funded there, I'm sure that you'd get enough funding to create it regardless of me not giving any money. I agree, even tho my indie company is not like most other indie company´s(you know, the stereo type "indie company"). This company is a registered company that actual makes money but in this case it would be smarter to do a kickstarter then to make and sell this product because they are not in high demands anymore thus can lead into a loss of time and resources. China town wars looked good because it had both 2d and 3d elements wich made it interesting. A full on top down 2d shooter wouldn't grab my attention personally. Tchuck Posted October 29, 2013 Share Posted October 29, 2013 If you do do it, don't go realistic. Reality is mostly boring and It wouldn't work too well for a top down game. Make it over the top, and it could rock, and make for a much more entertaining game. I might play it, if it was fun. Driving a car in the original GTA was pretty great. Driving the GTAIV car, "more realistic", in a top down setting would suck. Don't care for it in the iOS or Android, as I prefer actual buttons for these kinds of games. I would suggest alot fun/cool guns and vehicles + crazy missions and ofcourse good soundtrack. But i think top down is to old these days ( to sell alot ) but good luck with it. The only 2D GTA games were GTA 1, GTA 2 (the Gameboy Color versions), and GTA Advance. The rest were all 3D. If it looks good\fun I would probably buy it or fund it. In a sense, only the story is going to be realistic, everything else will have fun-ness(if that's a real world ) with them Besides that soundtrack is going to be good with allot of funny things inbetween, missions are going to be fun but layered with a realistic story around it.
