Traffic cars; is there a trick to it?

Strike Requiem

The title says it all but I will elaborate. Is there a trick to the way the traffic cars show up? I'm looking for an Ocelot Jackal and I've only seen them twice. I've seen online that there are theories to how the traffic works but I'm looking for the right answer at this point.

Is traffic on some sort of cycle where the Jackal will be available tomorrow at 2:30(just an example) or does it show up I'm driving around in a specific car?(If so which one?) Any info would be much appreciated.

The only thing I can offer is that it does seem like time of day affects which groups of vehicles will spawn and usually I can "force" a change by driving away and then coming back to an area or just popping into LS Customs and back out. Things like joining missions and quitting back out would probably work too.

Plug In Baby81

try driving different cars around, they spawn different things. also, switching to a new lobby helps respawn different cars if you are having a hard time finding one.

The only definite and verifiable trick I've found is this: Any specific car you are looking for will never spawn in traffic.

This.

Certain areas will also spawn certain cars more than others.

Traffic changes every 24 ingame hours which is a little under an hour in real life, and what spawns in traffic is also affected by what your currently driving and where your driving. Also, driving something rare tends to make the other rare cars show up, like if you drive a rat-loader, regular sentinels will start spawning. Also, each session seems to have its own traffic, so sometimes session hopping might get you what you want.
