GTA:O play on BOTH systems?

I currently have GTAV on both systems. I borrowed the xbox version from my cousin, and I wanna create a character to play online with a couple of coworkers. I'm wondering...will this screw with my PS3 character? I just started getting my levels up. Currently lvl 27. I would be mighty upset if I lose yet another character to the abyss. I figure if I make a new character in what would be an empty slot on my PS3 file I should be safe right? I'm obviously not well informed on how the saves would work between the PS3 vs Xbox saves in the cloud. I figured someone here may know. Has anyone had any experience with playing online on both systems?

I only play on PS3, but I can tell you for sure there will not be any conflicts. Xbox and Playstation accounts are treated as separate accounts on their end. Even if you sign up for Social Club, you can link either the PS3 or Xbox gamertags, or even both. Since there is no cross-platform play, there is absolutely no reason for your Xbox and PS3 accounts to ever interact with each other. Also, if this was a problem, I'm sure it would have been mentioned somewhere by now.

Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to be sure. I tried searching for any issues that fit my situation, but couldn't really think of a succinct way to describe, and search for it as evidenced in my slightly rambling original post. Thanks again.

shame theres no option to use a character on both, i'd consider buying it for xbox but don't really want to use/level another char.
