Let me get this straight because I am sure a lot of people are wondering the same thing. Is Grand Theft Auto Online coming to next generation consoles? (Playstation 4 and Xbox One) I have been hearing lots of rumors and it has been growing on me. IF you heard Rockstar say they are then post a link to where they may have hinted or said so. Thank you.

Rockstar, being both a developer and its own publisher, does not have the luxury of creating a launch title for a system without the threat of a potential fiasco that can seriously hurt the company. For this reason, Rockstar has stated that they are currently not in the process of porting GTA V to next generation consoles. That doesn't mean it will never arrive, but at this point in time you really can't be sure if it will ever come or not.

 

What if the new consoles are a total failure for the first few months of launch like the Xbox 360 was? Sure it sold well, but many had to be recalled after just a few months because of critical hardware flaws. When the people who haven't bought the console yet heard about this, it really hurt sales afterward and this is the same principal that Rockstar has in mind. If the new consoles don't do well at first, then neither will GTA V and they will have wasted a lot of short-term money doing the port. I personally think it will come eventually, but not for at least close to year or more after the new consoles have been out.

So you are saying it probably will at some point?

GTAO will at some point.

 

Not sure about GTAV, but i'd guess not.
