True but Rockstar is already writing ideas and stuff down. That was developers do, they are constantly having ideas and writing them down. But hey, they obviously love it, so maybe they'll dip out of the GTA V profits for it, iv never played any Max Payne games only ever tried a demo back on PS2, an hearing it didnt do so well im not sure why it didn't!! the only quick way to make another GTA release it for not to make silly games like table tennis. The ideas kicked around during right about now are considered, the story enters the early writing stages, etc., etc., etc.... Then the game comes out. This is how I see the timeline roughly being... October 2013- Ideas for GTA VI are non-seriously kicked around for the hell of it, GTA Online is being fixed, DLC is being created, Agent is being worked on November 2013 - February 2014- DLC is released, Agent is being worked on, GTA Online improved April 2014- News about Agent released, starts being taken seriously June 2014- Agent release date announced Late summer 2014- Agent released Fall 2014- DLC and such is worked on Winter 2014- Next R* game is announced Early 2015- GTA VI is discussed more in depth within R* Spring 2015- Next R* game is being created June 2015- Next R* game release date is confirmed, GTA VI is mentioned Late summer 2015- GTA VI discussed more, next R* game released Fall-Winter 2015- GTA VI is a good ways into the writing stages, DLC is released for aforementioned R* game Spring 2016- R* starts producing GTA VI Summer 2016- R* announces GTA VI is in development Fall 2016- GTA VI has Rockstar's full attention Winter 2016- The game is being built on heavily, Rockstar is perfecting VI Spring 2017- Rockstar announce GTA VI's aimed release date Summer 2017- Rockstar delays GTA VI Fall 2017- Rockstar starts finalizing GTA VI Winter 2017- Rockstar is almost done.... Spring 2018- Rockstar is pretty much done but delays the release until June to perfect the game completely and make online a perfect experience June 2018- GTA VI is released in the later part of June and I get an awesome but slightly late birthday present Is my timeline perfect? Nope. Is it possible? Maybe. Likely? I don't know. I'm assuming Rockstar will get VI done quicker than V since they will know how to handle the HD era better and feel more comfortable and less hesitant knowing that their risks payed off hugely with GTA V. After all, some of the files in V were suppoedly created before Ballad of Gay Tony was even released. *So, give it about 6-12 months and they'll be working on it. *2 years at least from now until they announce it. *3-4.5 years until the game hits shelves. *3-4.5 year until people start bitching about VI because it's not the 1:1 replica of San Andreas they unnaturally obsess over. If yes, I'd say they already started the work, but I think Rockstar North continues the work on Agent and possibly other titles they haven't announced yet. And of course, the other studios will also develop their own titles. I would like to see a new Red Dead or Midnight Club game, but the latter one is rather unlikely. After 4.5-5 years like usual.You can hardly call it 'usual', because it happened only once in the entire GTA series. It took Rockstar North three and a half years to bring out a completely new game after GTA San Andreas, and it took them almost five and a half years to release GTAV after the last installment of the franchise. I highly doubt they'll make another Max Payne considering the last one flopped. But hey, they obviously love it, so maybe they'll dip out of the GTA V profits for itMax Payne 3 did not really flop. The sales for fiscal year 2013 were underwhelming, but given the fact that it was (one of) the best-selling game(s) on Steam for several weeks after release and it still is popular there, I'd say the game sold well on the PC. Valve doesn't reveal the digital sales to third-party companies, only publishers, and, as far as I am aware, they are not allowed to share the numbers publicly, either.
