greenrock
so far their has been mixed reception with GTA Online...... I think a lot of the "bad reception" might be cause it was overhyped and of the rough start.... but its obviously something has to grow.... Edward-Is-A-Flunky45
Greenrock, you're back! The forums absolutely missed you. I missed his smart part. And I still miss his smart part. But I agree. Online GTA just like all of the online games takes time to grow. Once it gets competitive.
Stewlil
Hmm I dont know, alot of my mates have already stopped playing, I find it harder to join jobs already. There will probably be a spike around Christmas, but its not really noticeable unless you join jobs. People got sick of IV very quickly and I think this is a reason why they are holding stuff off to be released later, such as the content creator, heists etc. I also have seen a fair amount of people on the forums waiting for the PC release when they will either convert (or begin) to play on PC, myself included, as it will be sp much more fun (and PC's can handle a bigger player cap so fingers crossed). Most console games have their record amount of players when the game is sold (or in this case, when the multiplayer goes live). So there's my reasons why I dont think this game will "grow", it certainly wont die though

saintsrow
I'm sorry, I read that wrong. At first I thought it said, "GTA Online will blow" I'm wondering if GTA0 really will be a success. Clearly there are many people who can adapt to GTA multiplayer and online modes, but I can't get it. For me, GTA multiplayer (any generation) just confusing and frustrating. You can't tell if you're going to get shot, or if people are going to get in your car, or what. And then the fundamental structure of GTA0 makes multiplayer even worse. I get shot by people during tutorial, I lose money (and my expensive-to-replace pistol, at least once) when getting killed, I don't know what else, since I haven't tried much more. The penalty for getting killed just kills GTA0. I find my myself hitting the map button every 30 seconds to make sure that there are no other players getting close to me. It's like a zombie game without even trying. I live in a constant state of paranoia and fear while in GTA0. Actually, Rockstar probably expects me the be glad that they have given me that experience but I came here for fun, not pseudo-zombie fear. I don't think the fundamental structure of GTA0 will change. I just don't see the potential, except for the die-hard multiplayer fans. Can Rockstar make any money off of them? They just grind and glitch to level up and get money. I can't see how GTA0 will work as a large scale business model.
