Hey guys I was recently DDOSed by a guy on gta online and just regained my ability to get back on the internet. The guy who did it invited me to a party and just asked if i liked playing gta online and then DDOSed me. Once i was able to get back online i checked my recently played with and found the guy. Hes trying to invite me to a party again. Will he DDOS me if i join his party? Is that how it works?

 

Also, his gamertag is on xbox 360 and it IBuDxX

 

please report him unless you think that it is unethical to report someone you didnt witness breaking the rules. The xbox 360 help center says report ddos people for system tampering.

 

I understand if you dont want to but if quite a few people report him then he might get what he deserves and so it would be awesome if just a few people took the time to do it

This is why you do not accept random invites for parties, game, etc. from players you do not know.

dude i didnt even really believe it was possible on xbox before this happened, its never happened to me or anyone i know.

 

i know that sounds ignorant of me. they were sending me mean messages to provoke me i guess so i would join their party. it worked i guess.

 

they even called me kid lol

You are putting way too much faith onto his words.

 

If anything just phone call your ISP and ask if there was unusual activity onto your account / IP / whatever and ask them to take the appropiate measures.

i definitely got ddosed. i think i disabled the firewall one time cause it wouldnt let me download something or it was being annoying idk. im not very good with computers

I really doubt he DDos you, nowadays it's damn near impossible to get a persons IP from Xbox because of router and ISP security protocols.

 

Also you say you don't know much about computers then claim he definitely DDos you??? Lol.. Sounds like the only thing that person is guilty of is talking outta their ass and u actually believing it. Or made it up so you can get this guy a bad rep

i know what it is because he told me what he was going to ddos me and i vaguely know what it was because once syndicate was ddosed on a live stream

There's no way to obtain your ip address from Xbox live game or party

Yeah I believe the voice chat goes through their servers first before arriving to his end which hides your IP. If he does an IP check he would only see xbox server IPs and yeah not gonna DDoS that lol.

I know for a fact this is possible on ps3 at least.

It's the cod kiddies mostly that have the tools to do it.

 

I was in a game with my friend killing the same guy over and over because his friend was invincible, and then he tells us he's going to ddos us if we don't stop. So of course we didn't stop.... Hear him telling his friend he got our ip and then we both disconnected and couldn't even log into psn for a few minutes.

 

Basically, they have a computer hooked up in line with their ps3. They then use a packet sniffer to get ip addresses and try them till they find the right one.

The COD kiddies use it ALL the time in ranked matches to dc the other team and get wins. It's nothing new.

Look all i know is hes ddosing people. My friend wasnt even in a party with him just the same game session and now hes being ddosed.nothing will connect to the internet. so you are definitely wrong. theres a way to get peoples ip on xbox 360

 

unless theres another way to make it so nothing in a persons house can connect to the internet

My friend called his isp and they said that i was still being "hacked" and that since my friend connected to me he got messed with as well

i just called my isp andThey said someone was trying to change some personal setings but the fire wall wouldnt let them

I would say to report him to Rosckstar. If he did DDOS you get proof and then report him to the police. I am pretty sure doing a DDOS attack is illegal and can he could get jail time.
