vashcampbell
1. Be nice to everyone in GTA online. GTA online is a happy game that's about fluffy kittens and rainbows. Make sure you don't shoot at anyone's car or throw grenades or sticky bombs on them. Otherwise the game will punish you! You won't be able to play with your friends. 2. NEVER, and I repeat EVER. Defend yourself from spawn killers. If someone runs you over and kills you during the stand up animation just let them do it or join a new session. Then spend the next 30 minutes trying to get all your friends in the same session, it's not worth it to be prohibited from playing with your friends is it? Let any other mean players walk all over you and your kill death ratio. Self defense gets you thrown in a bad sport lobby in which you can't play with your friends! Anyone else learning similar lessons from the bad sport system? I've learned it's NEVER okay to defend yourself from anyone unless you're on foot. Rockstar really must not have wanted us to fight in/from vehicles. Weird...
RedDagger
Sure, the bad sport system is bad but it's not like what you're making it out to be; you can blow up people's cars if you're defending yourself, I just highly doubt your in the moral high ground if you need to defend yourself often enough to get bad sport. Also, it's really, easy to just shoot through the windshield on foot, or via drive-by to kill the driver, as I've done many times. It trains you to not try to just blow up people's cars, and if they do 'fix' it (i.e. get rid of it), you'd still need to pay insurance - which can be over $10k. One thing to note, is that apparently bad sport lobbies are pretty fun, with people playing without holding back. To some it's just a tag, since it doesn't really affect their gameplay. Though it really sucks you can't play with friends.

vashcampbell
RedDagger: I'm constantly defending myself from unprovoked attacks. I NEVER, EVER attack anyone first for any reason. I'm just a nice guy like that. However, all the time it seems crews want to attack me. 3-4 crew memebers double team me. It's pretty difficult to shoot from your entity at other entity's while you're all going 180 MPH down the highway without accidently blowing ONE car up. I can take on 3-4 people by myself no problem, I just usually accidently blow up a vehicle doing it. And rockstar punishes me for that? That's bull. Bad sport lobbies are fun, and I've met some awesome people there but I have way more real life friends I play with game with. I'd much rather be playing with them then randoms I met on the internet, so being punished from that for defending myself is just pure bullsh*t to me, the amount of time does NOT fit the crime at all. 2, then 4 f*cking days? Absolutely ludicrous.
Red XIII
I have learnt that most of gta online users are pussies that start crying because their car got blown up.
nivek500
I've also learned bad sports can be earned by unfinished missions,By that i mean abandon the mission half way. i figured that one out because someone kicked me out of the server in the middle of the mission. i only got a warning for that. that's why i posted a suggestion to delete the kick option. vashcampbell
Yeah, kind of ridiculous how the game gives you negative points even if you lose connection to xbox live (happens all the time because microsoft and my internet company suck balls.) or your power goes out. However, I had a friend of mine try to get into a bad sport lobby with me by just quitting out of missions over and over again - he said he quit around 30-35 missions and he was still a clean player. The penalty for quitting missions isn't nearly as harsh.
