I don't understand why having a custom plates costs in about 100K, while in the app it says much less...

Creating a new plate is 100k. If you change an existing plate's style (like background) it will cost just like the normal prices in game. You can install the same plate on more than just one car a.k.a. they aren't unique when installed.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but has anyone figured out a way to use spaces, dashes or underscores or anything like that? Or a way to center the letters? Reason I ask is I made a "PWNYCAR" license plate for my Dominator after one of the Mustangs in Midnight Club LA, but it's off-center and it drives me nuts, so I'm trying to figure out how to make it take up the full 8 spaces. Best alternative so far is "APWNYCAR" or "PWNEYCAR" but neither one sits perfectly well with me...
