E•MO•TION
Gta IV wasn't a MMORPG Honestly, I just saw that the title said "GTAO" and responded. Whoops.
VolkXue
Not an mmo... An mmo tends to have a story lol, reason to keep playing etc..
TaCtiCaLTommy
I wouldn't even consider it and MMORPG. Only 16 players...meh

saintsrow
OP, are you serious or just trolling? GTAO has very few of the characteristics of the type of games you mentioned. The only vague similarity is that GTAO has a 3D virtual world environment, and more than one person can be logged into it at the same time. If this is the best that the industry has to offer, we are in a (virtual) world of sh*t.
Guest
It has a bigger map, more activities and more players than any other MMORPG on the market. Tbh it kind of sh*ts all over other games in its category - take WoW for example
saintsrow
The people that are saying no - what do you think is better? Second Life is better, much better - open world, many modes of communications, some beautiful (and unfortunately many amateur-cartoonish) environments, thousands of people inworld, massive number of animations and virtual resources, open ended goals. Second Life does not have many of the characteristics of the games you mentioned, but it is the only one I have spent any time with.

WhiskeyFoxtrot
Hell no. To be totally honest, I much prefer GTA IV's online more so than V's. I want to hop on and play and have fun, not hop on and grind f*cking missions all day long just so I can rank up and unlock stuff. I haven't played online in about a week and quite frankly, I've lost all interest in the game.
RockstarFanboy
IV's MP Free roam was dull and stupid, at least in GTA:O you have reason to level up like ranks and money to buy apartments and cars... Deathmatch is pretty much the same on both but I still prefer V... cannot say why but I spended only 20-30 minutes on IV's MP while on this one I'm at almost 10 hours (not much I know but considering my free time it's much)

Red XIII
Looool no way, gta:o is boring, there is absolutely nothing to do. It needs more players in the world and waaay more content. GTA as an mmo will never be as successful as say world of warcraft, I know you cant compare but wow is a fantasy, that means the developers can make all kinds of different and crazy content to keep the player interested. GTA has to stay within the rules of reality thus limiting what can be added in the game.
