Not trolling really. Just pointing out that you're not the first one to have made the "observation" that people with bounties don't stick around for someone to come kill them. Depending on whether it's another player of some dickwad AI driver getting carjacked that puts a bounty on me, I may or may not stick around.

 

Frankly, if the game wants to give me $9000 for free, I am all for sitting in my apartment or going to an invite only session for 40 minutes until it wears off. Player placed bounties are a different matter. It's usually more fun to stay in-game.

 

I'll admit, if i'm actively chasing bounties it's mildly irritating if they leave or scarper back to their apartment. Mildly irritating, I must stress. Not worth overhauling the game system to force them to stay in-game.

I am well aware I am not the first to point this out. This is a discussion which you took part in only to say that it had already been talked about. Now you are contributing. I just don't understand people... I guess I never will.

 

The lobby jumpers weren't my main gripe, it is the cowardly people afraid to leave their comfort zone even in a virtual world. The game needs to force people together and if they are bad sports there should be a voting option for kicking, not just some guy who decides he didn't like you beating him so, poof, you're gone.

tl;dr? Not complaining that I can't play with them, only complaining that the kick comes before the quit button even appears on the screen. If I join a race and I see that there's 8 people in the same crew and I'm the only one thats odd, obviously it's a private race and I will quit immediately, but there's a delay of about 5-10 seconds before the game lets you quit..I just hate when I get kicked before the quit button even appears. If R* didn't mark me as a bad sport for this it wouldn't make a difference.

Again this is not really the players fault if they want to play alone or with their friends and their session is set to closed but people come in anyway. It is the entire match joining and hosting process that is the problem.

There are many of you out there. You like to host races, jobs, etc.. and kick people who join you. I can see doing this if you have a group of friends you are trying to play with, but if there are many slots open and you kick people who join it is because you are afraid of being beat.

This is an assumption. You're assuming they don't want to be beat. Do you know the real reason they kick people? No, you don't.

 

Another group of cowards like to lobby jump. You collect a bounty or kill somebody and then immediately leave the session. I guess it is to be expected when trolls are considered cool by their peers these days.

What if they're working on their Bounty Hunter award? Why would they stay in a session that has no bounties? Again, here you go assuming things about people you know nothing about.

I used to get kicked all the time. I always was like wtf is wrong with people, but I noticed that ever since I configured my Nat type I have not gotten kicked since. And mind you I was getting kicked every day 5-10 times a day.

Eh, I just hate when I join a race with a few level 20s or so and they immediately kick me because they see I am level 86. I guess they assume since I am a higher level I would automatically win in a race? Dumb.

Ended up in a mission were the 3 other players clearly didn't want me there. First they kick me out of there private vehicles, but I'm like what ever I'll just keep doing the mission. So I steal a car and head over to the truck we need to steal. They manage to steal it just as I get there so I plan on help escorting it, but one of the A-holes shoots my tires out for no reason. I was thinking about returning the favor but I was like, nah I'll troll harder being a good sport. So I find another vehicle, by then they were all dead and I was the only one alive. I get to the truck, fend of waves of pursuit vehicles with rifle and bomb. Then preceded to take it all the way to Martin's little safe shack. I get to the near end, get out before I enter the bomb. Put explosives on it, do the flip off gester and blow the thing up....most satisfaction ever on a mission.

last night i kept having to deal with a jerk in one session (i know i could have changed sessions), last night i was deliving a car for simeon and i was approaching his garage with a car in perfect condition, and i see a white dot there (i didn't think too much about it beside basically hoping he would behave, he didn't as soon as i got to the garage he shot and killed me and as soon as i died (i saw him take the car i was delivering to simeon and drive away with it), so i got even by sending mercs after him, they did kill him but later he killed me, and after that i got back at him by placing i big bounty on his head and i also voted to kick him, he got killed and later he voted to kick me and he was the one who started it but after a while he ether left or was kicked off.

yes i know i'm complaining and i may not be remembering it perfectly since i'm in my late 40's and i'm on xbox.

 

i'm sorry if i was off topic.

Just had to rant because it gets annoying dealing with such low life dodgy people all the time. If you are this cowardly on a video game I can only imagine how you are in real life.

Why not just host your own missions, races, ETC. That way you don't have to worry about being kicked. When I am in an invite only session and I want to play golf, race, or do a mission by myself I will kick people who join. It's not because I am afraid of being beaten. It is because I don't want to be bothered having to cooperate with someone else or being competitive.

I do. It is the only option because the whole joining system is flawed. If you have it set to closed other people shouldn't be allowed so you don't have to kick them, which I have repeated a million times in this thread now.

I do have it set to closed yet somehow people are still able to join. Hopefully RS fixes at some point.

His issue is valid though, being kicked like that still gives badsport points, and it was no fault of your own. Those types of hosts should set the lobby to close, and only open after their friends are in. Kicking people because you failed to correctly setup the lobby is YOUR problem, not mine.

 

If you are getting randoms in your supposedly closed session, it is not CLOSED. When you host a match from the start menu, for some reason it actually ignores your Lobby settings and makes the lobby open. During the time it takes you to swap over and close it you can indeed get randoms in your lobby. Suck it up and play a round with them, then leave and reform. This time since you will be near the race/activity you wanted, just walk in and it will respect your settings.

 

or just kick them and do as you please because in the end its your problem not mine if we kick you, lol we're still having a good time where as you just have to find something else.

It is good that we can host, but there should be an option when you physically go to a mission or race circle to join a race on that track with no host. Something with a defined set of rules so you know what you are getting into and won't be kicked. Obviously there would need to be a player kick voting option to weed out dirty players. I want to keep the option to host but there should be RockStar hosted missions and races at these points on the map. If you go to quick join you should be launched into one of these sessions and not a user hosted mission/race.
