basic impact comparison all armour mods put to the test.

no armour= $390 in damages (makes the bonnet flip up which takes the impact so its a cheaper repair but has worst damage)

0_0.jpg

20%=$415 in damages. (bumper hanging off).

0_0.jpg

40%= $415 in damages. (it has the same damage for the first impact).

0_0.jpg

60%=$415 in damages. (same again).

0_0.jpg

80%=$390 in damages.(big scratches).

0_0.jpg

100%=$300 in damages. (small scratches).0_0.jpg

this test was a fair test there was no traffic in the way and all had the exact same crash and impact point all done from the exact same point.

The difference in the amount of cash paid for each impact, is not dependant on the amount of armour used , it is dependant on what part of the car is damaged . E.G. the bonnet in the picture with no armour, is cheaper than repairing a bumper even though the bonnet has less armour.

Are the armour upgrades worth it? well if it a car you use to set a best lap time on a solo race then no, for races against others then yes the weight of the armour helps a bit when other players try to spin you off not much but its still good.

if you play free roam with friends that don't shoot you when you use that car then no , if you use it in police chases in free roam then yes.

if you use it for missions then I do suggest having the highest level armour mods.

in conclusion, if I said no in the above statement then you should wait until your rank 100 to get 100%. if I said yes then you may as well buy armour for that car.

if you do all those things in one car then it is definitely worth getting the armour mods for your car.

{you pay for what you get if you want more armour for your car to last longer it will cost allot more having no armour costs less for the one impact but can explode more easily }

[on a side note different cars have different damage amounts and different ways they blow up E.G. adder has the engine in the back may have lots of damage taken to the front but will take longer to blow up as most impacts like the one I tested are from the front].

post bellow what armour mod you have and was it worth it for you?

Window test

no armour= 12 bullets of combat pistol to be completely gone.

100% armour= 12 bullets of combat pistol to be completely gone.

this proves that armour does not affect the windows from bullets it all depends on where you hit with the shot.

(it does help with windows on collisions as the window gets less crushed by the impact if you get what I mean).

Tank Test

100% armour cannot survive a tank even when moving and at long range, even when hit at the back.

There may be instances that you can survive, but it very unlikely.

I will be doing some more tests in the future, I might update it on this post or create a new topic.

what tests would you like to see and I will try and test them for you.

Do armor upgrades help against bullet penetration when being shot while driving???

I can sure do that test for you. any weapon you would like me to use?

OffroadRunner

I notice a huge difference in armor ad how bad the vehicle gets banged up. I had my Merryweather jeep with no armor due to thinking it caused weight increase. That think would get all smashed up after one roll. With 100% armor you can flip that thing over and over and it takes WAY less damage now.

Same with the Entity, no armor and that thing breaks apart pretty quick in police chases and normal driving and crashing. 100% armor and its like a small fast tank.

Bullet damage through doors it also makes a huge difference, it sucks it doesn't change the windows at all. But shooting the door with the AP pistol it doesn't start doing damage until about the second clip. But if you hit the window, buh bye! lol

You mentioned weight of armour... is that even a game mechanic?

yes , I believe it is. if you use the I fruit app, it clearly shows the weight difference.

also you can notice a difference in game , when using the adder you can see that it stays on the road more.

That would be great, mainly what police are using would be nice to know if armor helps any.

Just get a car with a roll cage..

not all cars have a roll cage ,the test I did clearly rules the roll cage out of it, it is a front collision test not a roll test.

( a roll test would not be accurate.

I can test the side of the car I will need some one to help me with this test, also one big theory is the window theory and we can hope fully clear it up. Edited by ells144

I am pretty sure armour does help reinforce the windows(not sure about side windows. Shoot a gun at the rear window/windshield of a car with no armour and it will shatter. Shoot at a car with 80% or higher armour then you will see bullet holes and it takes longer before it shatters.

I would like to see the test performed with a tank shell. My stinger (100% armor) took a direct hit and survived. I was able to drive away to safety.

What is the minimum amount of armor needed to survive a direct hit from a tank shell?

I will test this ill start with 100% if it blows up in 1 hit then we will know.

If it helps it was the stinger gt, hit broad side (right side of the car) from 500-600 yards away.

finished window theory and added to post.

Ok that makes sense. I guess the reason it seems like my windows can take more bullets with armour is because the body of the car is holding them in longer.

I know this is a silly question but does the stinger have a front or rear engine could be some thing. every car I have tested just burns completely, so I am not sure .I don't have enough cash for the stinger so I can try that out,

I was speaking on the vulnerability of the engine.

You really have to try hard to blow that up.

Was under the impression armor really only helped with bullet penetration.

Interesting analysis..
