Yes. I've had the same two characters since the first week of GTA Online's launch. I've not lost anything, either.

Basically. However, you have to start all over again. Even the tut must be done again. Only your money is shared, so creating a new character isn't really that useful.

 

Note: Properties unlock at Rank 5. Just hurry if you only care about the garage.

How does a person create a new 2nd character?

Online - Select new character (I think). Go to the empty slot and create your character.

 

The game will select your last played by default, so let`s say you log off today with Slot 1. Unless you go to "Select new character" or whatever that option is called, you will implicitly have Slot 1 active.

go to online options.. Swap character..will bring you to character creator.
