How can I unequip certain weapons?

I don't want to be holding 3 pistols, 3 SMGs, 3 assault rifles, I'd like to have 1 of each(so that I don't have to switch between them). Is that possible?

i feel the same way..when you have ur weapon wheel up press triangle ( ps3) to drop them..i only have the AP pistol and the combat MG for those slots

edit : or just do a survival and pick em up there

I don't know if Im just being stupid but when I drop my weapon in free roam, unless someone picks it up I seem to have that weapon back when I play again. any ideas? sick of having 2 pistols when my second one has all the attachments.

Finally people who have the same issue as me... I can't stand my weapons switching back to the ones i don't use on me and getting into a firefight and dying cause of this, Also I dropped them but they just popped back up after i quit game and rejoin GTAO... There needs to be a way to set default weapon so whatever weapon you chose as main weapons for that catagory will always be it by default when switching to said weapon.

Tap L1 to equip weapon you chosed in the weapons spin wheel..

 

Tap L1 to unequip weapon....

 

Tap L1 again to equip it...

 

Tap L1 once again to unequip it...

 

So on and so on

You can't get rid of the original pistol. You have to drop it in every Session
