They need to fix voice/party chat spread the word.

The game by default should allow you to hear people on missions even if you are in a party chat, many other games do thi. The reason is that most people dont even realise someone is on the mic trying to give them mission details. This simple fix would change the game so much, I would even support the option to turn it off but it should be on by default because the stupid people who cant even adjust the settings are the ones we need to speak to the most(AKA, Don't run into that building there is like 50 mercs in ther.... Damnit hes dead, what a dip.).

I don't want some kid telling me how crap I am on loop.

I know I'm crap, thanks.

Perhaps you should play with friends?

Rockstar stated that GTA Online would be revolutionary and emphasised the game would be about sharing and coordination.

For this reason, I wondered if they had something special up their sleeve that would get people working together with voice chat.

The problem is, that too many people act stupidly as soon as they realise their voice can be heard. Not just "kids" but too many "adults" too - so I turn my voice mode to friends and crew only. So much better.

I thought GTA would at least have localised sound (so you can only hear people near you) but when I had it switched on to "Everybody" I could hear people all round the map. Not revolutionary.

Then go to pause, online, players and mute them, most people actually work well together on missions if they actually can hear the other players, problem is if your in a party you cant hear anyone else, this is counter productive to the community aspect.

LOL I totally agree. I make the mistake of assuming my fellow comrades know what they're doing all too often.

For instance I was playing some Coveted last night and 3 other dudes joined so I changed the difficulty to hard. The mission starts off and one dude just hightails it towards the SUV where that first enemy camps behind. The dude kills him and hops in the car and starts whaling on the horn so I'm thinking hell yeah this dude knows what he's doing he's gonna drive us right to where cargobob lands. Wrong. The dude drives full speed down the hill to the left where all the enemies are and straight into the water where every one of us got killed. Such a waste LOL! It was shortly after that I saw the guy's name in the lobby was "umadnow716" or something. Good times.

You are right, and, given the circumstances ie I am clearly in a lobby with the guys you suggest, then I'm there.

Unfortunately it is idealistic, and, the reason most people play in parties or reach for the mute button is simply because of the idiots that reside in most online games.
