chrishifty
I prefer the style of HUD from Vice City/San Andreas. That is, the weapon you have equipped, ammo, health, armor, money, wanted level and time of day are on your screen at all times. As opposed to the new gen HUD where all you can see is your health and armor and have to press the down button to bring it all up or whatever. For instance, I NEVER know what the time/day is in V. I will be sitting there thinking it's like 5 in the evening or something and I'l check and it's like 6 in the morning. (times of day look different in LA compared to where i live). The only way to check is to bring up the phone but i'd rather it just displayed it constantly. Thats the same with money. It would be cool if you always knew what weapon you had equipped and how much ammo. Yes you can just hold the bumper and see but i'd prefer it if i knew at all times that way when i tap the bumper or x or whatever the button is to bring out my weapon i know exactly what i'l whip out (this is ESPECIALLY the case when driving and you press x so see what weapon you have and end up having to scroll thru all the weapons) I like the idea of there being no HUD to make it feel more like a movie/cinematic. But I feel like it detracts from the whole RPG feel of the game/you could immerse yourself more into your character if you constantly knew all these important details that the new gen hud hides from us. Surely an option to toggle what style of HUD you have would satisfy everybody? I think they removed it all to avoid having a cluttered screen but now that TVs are getting bigger and bigger surely that isn't a problem. That way people who prefer it how it is now can leave it and people who prefer it how it used to be can change. Anybody else have annoyances with the HUD? MootWizard
I kind of agree, the one thing I really wanted was to change my view to first person when driving. As for checking the time I only hit the down direction arrow and it brings up time, vehicle your driving and area you're in etc, which I don't have a problem with.
