Rusted Vehicles: What's the Point?

Besides the fact that it adds another aspect of immersion and can be categorized as "one of the little things" that makes GTA so special, I don't really see the point in it. Hear me out.

First of all, most of the rare/desirable cars - Rat Loader, Bodhi, Voodoo, ect, all have rusted counterparts, which, as far as I've seen, spawn much more often than it's "clean" version. Those poor players who spend hours trying to find a certain car, spotting it, only to find out that it is rusted. Breaks my heart.

Now, you're probably thinking " Oh well, a little rust never hurt anyone." Well, think again.

The rust on the vehicle not only looks horrible, but it severely restricts the amount of customization on the vehicle. Most vehicles have only an option for Tracker/Insurance and Respray, which is sort of void, as the rust covers most of the paint anyways.

By lacking customization, the car is prevented from not only looking nicer, but going fast and performing better. So, it actually does hurt someone.

I know that most of the cars that can be rusted aren't the top tier performance wise, but regardless, people want them and should be able to attain a "clean", legitimate version of them.

Just a closing point, to add insult to injury, I wanted to test out the BF Injection, was too lazy to search for a non-rusted one, so I bought one online. Smart, right? Wrong. It came rusted. I was sad.

Rusted versions have less customization options than their clean counterparts? Tell that to the Karin Rebel.

And yeah, wish the online BF Injection was clean. Oh well.

There should be an option to restore the vehicles. Not fussed if it costs heaps, as long as you can do it. I've got an Injection sitting in my garage atm that I don't want to do anything with, purely because of the rust.

Should be covered under repair in LSC.

Or, even if its unrealistic, make the car wash remove rust.

At least then it'll have a use.

There are light colors that completely hide the rust, if you're into that sort of thing. Using metallic paint with the right pearlescence can help too.

Rockstar being lazy.

Rat loader is a rat rod, it shouldn't be rusted to f*ck.

So many options and opportunities slashed, because cockstar was too lazy to add it.

"Customization period is better than IV, right team?"

"Right!"

"Then It's settled, let's give them a half assed system while we focus our main priorities on cash cards."

"Wow, Game of the Year, Good job guys!"

f*ckin terrible.
