Is there any way to remove attachments on weapons?

I assume there is suppose to be a way, but I cannot seem to find one. I didn't realize that adding a suppressor onto my Assault SMG would alter its damage so drastically.

 

Also, is there an advantage in purchasing the Scope attachment? I mean, it isn't like you can ADS with anything besides the two Sniper Rifles.

 

Any help would be great, thanks.

If you go to ammunation you can pick the weapon from the wall and add/remove mods.

As far as I know, you'll have to go to Ammunation to remove attachments. It would be awesome if you could remove silencers on weapons without going to ammunation.

 

The scope gives you a slight accuracy upgrade.

The scope makes you zoom in further when clicking the Right Stick down while aiming. I noticed the difference.

Hm, I've tried Ammunation before, but it didn't seem to work. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong. Anyways, I've tested the scope on most of the weapons and I'd have to say the difference, if any, is so minimal that it definitely isn't worth the 10k, or whatever it was I paid for it.
