Fix the aiming mechanics!

Driving takes a bit of getting used to and progression is slow, clearly rockstar wants people to spend a bit of time mastering and getting better at the game. This is not a play and put down game, this is a game that aims to have players coming back for more. Then why is aiming so CHEAP and EASY?

"Traditional gta" just makes gun fights a matter of reaction time, the guns used by players and randomness. With all the children running around doing nothing but "griefing", how can you protect yourself if their job is so easy? The player only has to hold lt or whatever button it is and hit rt. then you die so f*cking fast! PvP is a major element in this game, and it's too random!

Now, I understand this isn't a competitive game. Your not gonna "try hard" or go nuts about your k/d and challenge players to 1v1's. ( although 1v1's are fun ) but in gta 4 I had the option to turn off auto aim. And because I was a good shot, I'd mow kids down. If some kid tried to grief me, I'd pop him in the head with an m4 and move on. But you can't do that because the enemy can kill you in a 1/8 of a second with a single BUTTON COMBO. PvP is just broken, cheap and random bullsh*t.

I say the solution is to have traditional gta aim removed from multiplayer. Or at least let us turn it off. Then, tone the reticule magnetism on "assisted aim" down a sh*t load. ('Cause that's the same thing just no snapping to targets upon aiming) and keep free aim as is. My point is, player and gun should not be the opposite sides of two magnets. That's too random and the only way to kill people is to have the fastest killing guns in the game.

I refuse to play with randoms until an update like this is implemented.

>Open up single-player

>Settings - auto-aim off

>Go Online and you will always be put in a free aim lobby(No one using auto-aim)

Same for missions/game-modes.

grand theft spaghetti

the auto-aim system lets you know when the other guy is using the invincible cheat. when you cant lock on to another player you know they are cheating.

I suck at free aim, so after failing miserably at it I switched to assisted aiming only to come to the conclusion that if I am having a shoot out with any people and cops it automatically aims at the cops..

A simple fix would be to not press the trigger fully.. Well I use alternate aiming using the shoulder buttons and not the triggers because I can't stand using L2/R2 for shooting and driving, that and I have gotten use to it when Max Payne 3 came out. That coupled with the fact that Ps3 controllers that come with the console are made of a cheaper material and aren't as durable as the individual controllers you buy from the store.

So my only fix is to get a new controller.. ARGH!!!

You can always play free aim online if you want to....somebody either doesnt play with options, or doesnt do his research.....

Thanks so much for the tip Nuer. This is a lot better. Just wish I'd known about this sooner.

And "the_kid331", I'm Rocking my brain trying to think of a response but but there's so much wrong with your state of mind, so I'll say this: forums are meant for posting opinions. And yes, the way you aim in a game such as aim assist reticule type, hit boxes, and sensitivity is called "aiming mechanics".

Free Aim isn't as hard as you guys make it out to be. Obviously it takes some getting used to, you're not going to be amazing right away.

It also helps if you played the SP in free aim, so you'd be more accustomed to free aim and things.

They NEEDED to copy and paste MP3 shooting, i want to mix 12s and pistols! But meh, it ain´t suposed to be arcade thou it would be more fun.

TLDR, just change to free aim in single player.
