Rockstar's reasoning for halving the mission payouts

After putting this into the bullsh*t-to-text translator, we get:

"Please remember, we don't want you to farm/exploit because we want you to buy cash cards."

Oh, right. That`s why I have 1.2 mils in the bank and a full garage, because they are forcing me to buy cash cards. I already "won" the game, honey.

Meh, not sure if I like this move.

Grinders are going to grind no matter what. As soon as they changed the payouts for doing missions a second time, all the grinders began doing races. I can't tell you how many times I Quick Join a race, only to end up in a lobby getting set to play either Down the Drain or the absurdly short lap around the prison, and I end up getting kicked because these are a bunch of friends letting each other win in order to earn money and RP.

It's annoying, but it really doesn't effect me, or at least it won't effect me once R* figures out how to keep closed lobbies closed. I think that grinding is a waste of time, and kills the fun of the game. It's just not my style, I like to play for fun, and I earn plenty of cash that way, without being cheap.

My guess is, R* is upset because nobody is buying their GTA Dollars. It was a stupid idea anyways, something they should have saved for their next massive online GTA release, after they've ironed the kinks out. We're all playing a beta right now.

I'm grinding, but only taking missions that pay 8k or more. I make up the difference buy knocking over stores...They previously said they were making the mission payouts less to ensure diversity of the missions players would replay and that it was to balance the heists...Rockstar is spinning a web of lies made out of bullsh*t.

I wish they'd stop playing the "balancing the economy" card.

There is no economy.
Prices don't fluctuate.
A good percentage of players have money in the tens, if not hundreds, of millions.

All that did was burn the bridge of legitimacy to get to that point.
Now anyone that doesn't glitch has to put in twice the effort of an already tedious process. Or, you know, do Criminal Records a few thousand (literal) times.

Balancing the economy excuse has always been bullsh*t since they allow players to purchase millions if they want through cash cards... its utter tripe they are talking.

RIP Rockstar Games

Grinders are going to grind, myself included. The mission(s) with the highest payout/time ratio will always be popular. The only way to change that is remove all but one mission, or make them all the same time/payout. And that would be the pinnacle of stupid.

Certainly more tweaks will come down the pipeline, but I personally think the mission timers should be on a 24 hour cooldown for full rewards. (alternately, every night at midnight). But then again, we haven't seen heists yet. however, My worry is, if I can get 9k every 2 or 3 minutes doing Mixed up with Coke, or 5-6k every minute and a half racing a lap of down the drain, why would I bother spending 3 hours preparing for/pulling off a heist? especially if you can only do one a day or some other such limitation? The only way to make that feasible is if you're getting over a mil for a good heist. and that is so highly unlikely.

Economy in this case probably is used to describe general income / outcome of money, aka How many hours one has to play to get to the "end game".

Absolutely. You'd think SOMEONE at R* would understand what an economy is. It'd be an excellent, and valid, argument if the explosion in cash in players accounts due to glitching had increased prices 100000% like it would have in reality. Then I'd be pissed at the glitchers. I don't do it, but I don't care if you do...you know...since it has ZERO effect on anything but their ability to sell cash cards.

down the drain pays more :D

3 people on it doing exactly 100 races, 2 laps each, will net you 1m if you win every time :D

The in-game economy? Didn't they shut down BAWSAQ, thus removing any sort of 'economy' system?

BAWSAW was never up to begin with from what I remember, in multiplayer that is.

I am the consummate grinder. There is no way to balance the system, and why the hell would they try? Why is this a problem? these lower payout have driven me from racing, something I already loathed. Right now I'm a lvl 82, all stats are maxed, got the 400k apartment, some fairly tricked out vehicles I no longer need since I dome with racing and the idiots that grief there. .I got allot of tricked out guns and over $150,000 in ammo. And I still have $500,000 in the bank. I make between $12,000 to $20,000 an hour (one day in gametime). I log in, sell a baller for a cool $9000 ( I usually have at least 3 in my garage) I'll run a low level Gerard mission for another $1000-$2000. Collect a crate for $2000. Maybe take out the gang at the sandy shores airport and make another $1500. Maybe another Gerard mission. Hold up a few stores. Now I have killed enough time that I can sell another baller. Plenty of time in there for exploring/ mapping all the parking garages, best escape routes for sticking up stores. I make good money, and how is that a problem? Nerfing the cash payouts for racing, they really f*cked that up. Winner still gets $13.000. second and 3rd gets paid good, every one else gets jack sh*t. The only thing they accomplished was encouraging the bumper car bullsh*t to escalate .. Where before if I came in 5th after being run into a wall by some ass on purpose, I still got $2700. Now I get $1000, and after you factor in the $300 entry fee I made a whopping $700. Not worth the time and aggravation. Plus leveling up, I race the commute course over and over solo for a great 2650xp each time. I don't race it solo on purpose. I set up the session the way I want, then auto invite for 60 seconds, then when still no one showes up I go ahead and race solo. When are they going to fix the host wait times. I once waited 10 f*cking boring minutes and didn't get a single player added to my lobby...

They are screwing up the game with all this "balancing" bullsh*t.

BAWSAQ will be completely ruined forever unless they reset/ban glitchers. (that is if they ever ad it).

Also, I love owning the Grinders in Team Deathmatch. These dudes come out with Miniguns and get killed by every level 15 with an SMG,so I'm not claiming to be all that by doing this.

A lot of the people who are hardcore grinders aren't picking up any new skills, and they therefore end up sucking despite technological superiority.

So grind and grind some more while other people actually set a cap and stop caring on the amount of money they get and start playing for, I don't know, fun?
