V 9 L U K 3 4 V
So by now we all know this game has made over a billion dollars so how does it work for the voice actors who play (Trevor,Michael,Franklin) how much do they come out with I mean it's gotta be 10 million a peace ? Do we actually know Ps bet Michael hollicks pissed that he made a hundred thousand dollars whilst these guys probably sh*t all over that.
Doland J. Trump
Their salary would have been determined in the contract when they signed up for it. Now that could have been pre-determined (probably around 2m+) or they may have agreed to give them a cut from the sales. CarimboHanky
in this games rarely a actor get paid by the sales % normally they would just sign a contract, do the voice/motion capture, with a fixed salary. a better example of this is Michael Hollicks the voice of Niko, he got paid a total of $100,000 for voice and motion capture for a little over 2 years of work. no royalties, no nothing. to be honest, it wont surprise me if the guys of V didnt get more than $250k
SlappyPwnsAss
They probably didnt even get 1 million. No way. Probably somewhere between 300k-100k
mariana_dm1989
Probably around 200k each. Quiet decent.
LateNightNeons
Lol, a lot of the times, even the development companies don't get a % of the sales by the publisher, let alone the voice actors. If I had to guess I would go with around 200k total across 3 years period that took to shoot-record all this stuff.
ry12111
They got paid peanuts trust me 100k i reckon not much at all & i bet they will struggle to find work soon enough
jmack3d
Hell, I'd be happy with just 50k to talk into a Mic for a while and then be immortalized in a historic video game forever QualityBait
Von_Von
I supose they have two deals with R*, first, they received a salary in the 3 years development of the game ( 250000$ year ? With a confidentiality clause ? ). And they could have also a royalties deal, for each copy sold they receive 0,5% or 0,3% depending on the character. And I am just talking about the main actors. I know that Steven Ogg is being invited to do a lot of stuff and this was a huge moment on his career, are those invites related to another deal also related to GTA 5/R* ? blakeney
100-200K is closer to the mark the 10mill lol! They get paid like any other job.. not a %! The people that get serious $ depending on how many were sold are the guys that write the "original" score for the game... they will get serious good G off this. % of Every single sale... every sound track sale (presuming they are on there).... IF it does hit other consoles/platforms.... theres a whole load of new cheds for them!

They wont get %'s as high as 0.5! When dealing with %'s of sales for multimillion selling things 0.5 is ALOT... think of all the people involved... there is only 200 x 0.5s before thats all the profit gone. AllenKS
Wouldn't these guys get higher because they actually did the face-capture for the character's too? Like, that Michael Hollick guy didn't do face capture I don't think, being that he looks nothing like Niko, and even the animations themselves looks like rudimentary stuff they could've got from any old employee. Since Solo, Steve and Ned did all the motion capture, and voice work, and face capture stuff, they'd probably get a bigger check. Maybe even those royalties since it's their likeness being sold with every copy? Someone asked Solo about the pay in that Times Square video and he was extremely satisfied judging from his answer. I'm thinking something like ~400k for the 3 years of motion capture/VA Michael Hollick got 100k for a couple months, and little-no extra motion capture stuff. AllenKS
Michael Hollick didnt do the face capture but he did the motion capture for Niko. My bad. Still, being that it's not his face, and it is the GTA 5 actor's faces, they could have got a better deal for themselves since their likeness is being used. I'd expect them to get a little bit more than he got, not to mention they worked longer. Hollick did 16 months, the V actors worked across 3 years. Ravey Davey
They would have got more because of likeness rights, as said above. I am sure all 3 guys are getting looked after a lot better than the Niko guy in terms of appearances etc too, since they ARE the characters. Almost anyone could do a Niko style Eastern European voice (no offence to mr Hollick).
Car Lover
Lol... they didn't make near that much. They would have made an hourly rate, typically about 200 bucks an hour, with no bonuses, percentages, or residuals.

Yep you are right, I forgot to put another 0 "0,05% or 0,03%" Eddie Murphy makes 0,075% for each Beverly Hills Cop dvd sold until today and its considered a very high gain for just one actor. All Michael Hollick did was voice Niko, that's it. Of course he would get paid less than everyone else, it's just the voice.

Raavi
Most likely they got around 100k each, Rockstar pays no royalties so 100k is pretty much it. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise
Dope_0110
They certainly didn't get any royalties. Rockstar, and most other companies, don't work like that. The actors all probably got a contract up front and signed to perform for a certain sum (probably around $100 000 for the main actors, much less for side characters). They signed the contract, did the job, got paid and that's it. And they didn't work 2 or 3 years either. They probably did their voice in a very short period of time and were called back to re-record as needed for script changes.. but that is not a 9-5 job so $100K is a huge money considering they have the time to work on other projects at the same time as well.
