playing online with my brother?

why am i not able to play GTA5 online with my brother who has a second copy and playing under the same roof as i am? when we try it kicks one of us off and we cant do missions or anything of the sort together online. can someone please help with answering this issue

Are you using the same PSN/Xbox Live account? If so, it won't work. Have your brother start another PSN/XBL account. If you're already using different accounts, it could be something to do with your IP Address or Internet Connection. Or it might just be GTA:O being retarded.

we have 2 different accounts and different xboxes but maybe it is our internet

I have internet problems with GTA if my wife is doing homework on our computer. Its our router, cannot handle more than two loads. Might want to upgrade the router and see if that helps, also if your connection is below DSL speeds, could be the internet.

It's something to do with both xbox's being on the same IP.

 

Ran into this issue a few years ago when I tried playing games with my brother, doesn't affect us any more as we live apart now.

 

From what I remember, the only way we could fix it was to get another phone line in place for a second router to run off.

Yeah, definitely your IP, when my roommate and I first had our internet connection set up we had the same problem.

 

Just set a static IP on one of your consoles, take a look on youtube it's fairly easy.
