Uses for stealth in GTAO?

Is there some kind of mini guide or topic someone can link me to that goes a little more in depth into stealth for GTAO?

 

I like stealth games, im not expecting much (or anything really) from this game in terms of stealth, but since its in the game I feel I should check up on it.

 

Can you actually sneak up behind the AI in missions using stealth? Does it work against players in deathmatches, if so, how?

It really doesn't have too much use in free roam against other players, due to the fact you can see other players' blips on the map regardless if they're using stealth and/or hidden. I suppose you could sneak up against AI in free-roam. I believe it helps your blip not being shown by other players (Therefore giving away your position) if you're in a deathmatch, and may help in some other gamemodes (NOT INCLUDING LTS!)

Sorta, how does it help you're blip not show up in DMs? In fact any in-depth explanation on how the radar works in DM (in terms of blips showing up) would be appreciated.

How it's been working for me is that when a player respawns their blip will be on all of the other players mini-map for a short period of time. And I have hypothesized that when a player shoots their weapon it will show their blip (feel free to prove me wrong) but if you're in stealth mode and/or using a silencer your blip will show up for a shorter period of time or maybe not at all. This is what I've gathered as a DM sniper.

Im guessing when you run the circle that is created is the radius you have be in to appear on the other persons map?

 

Anyway im also assuming stealth reduces the time on the radar? A good way to test that is look at the blips at the start of the round. If they all disappear at the same time, either their stealth stats are the same, or it simply does nothing. If they disappear one by one, then some factor must come into play to do so, stealth being the most likely choice.

Pretty much. Stealth has no other practical purposes. BUT, if you want to level it up fast (The Cheatey Way) there're YouTube videos by DYNASTY1031 and TypicalGamer that explain the process pretty well.

Ok cheers for the info anyway. As for leveling up, I intend to just let most of the skills come naturally as I intend to make this a long term online game experience.
