I had the first for a while, and for the most part it is a one shot kill......But it takes a while.......Is the heavy sniper better?

Heavy sniper is obviously better. Why else would it unlock at a higher level and have a higher damage rating if it weren't better?

Is a 7.62 better than a .50cal for distance shooting? Yes. Yes it is.

In story mode I liked the first one better because it killed npcs in one shot and was semi auto. In online heavy might be better since players tend to have higher health or body armor. I'm only level 50 so I won't have heavy for awhile. Which is sad because I've recently fell in love with sniping. All I want is to zoom in more, does heavy zoom more? Does anyone know? I bought the advanced scope for the first sniper but it didn't seem to do much.

Well, Honestly level and stats mean sh*t in this game....

Not sure if it's the same online but in SP the .50 cal sniper doesn't have a silencer available which could hurt you in death matches since you won't show up on the mini-map when you fire the silenced one. Other than that the .50 cal sniper is way better. You can easily take down a chopper in Survival by shooting the chopper body so it's pretty nasty.

not to mention that you can kill people in choppers in MP easy too

Heavy sniper easily, especially considering they use the same ammo apparently so I figure why not send a more deadly round out. There's still times tho where a surpressor comes in handy. Just watch out because hit the wrong spot on a vehicle 2 times and boom with the heavy.

Pretty dissapointed with the sniping in this game tbh, everything is fine except that over actual long distances players just seem to dissappear out of the scope. :/

Yea was just something I noticed when using it since you can get a free one in Survival before you are high enough level to buy one. I had a bad angle to shoot the pilot who was trying to get to someone else so just started shooting the chopper. Only took a few shots and it exploded. Wouldn't have happened nearly as fast with the lower level sniper.

Heavy is much better online, but you still need that first sniper for the silencer. Best to be ready for anything.

Any weapon that unlocks after the first of its class is arguably always better

Reg pistol < combat

Pump shotgun < combat/auto shottie

Uzi < assault smg

Ak47 < carbine

Mg < combat mg

Sniper < heavy sniper

Grenade < sticky bomb

Guess I made my point.

Stats do make a difference to anyone who says otherwise. Not sure how to measure the accuracy of them however.

And for the op question. Heavy is much better. See how's many shots it takes to destroy a car/heli with regular sniper vs heavy

The pump shotgun does have better range. At longer ranges, it's still a OSK while the Assault SG is 2-3 sometimes.

I was gonna edit that the shotgun is the debatable one. Auto is better short range, pump better for long range.

You kill people in thanks with that. A thing I have never seen in either COD or BF.

Does 2-3 shots matter when it's automatic and has a drum clip? I usually dominate with this thing. Actually pending on the map I'll use just this, but maps with more open or high elevated areas I'll switch between that and the carbine rifle (sometimes sniper just because I like to snipe)

The heavy sniper rifle can shot through the tank and kill the driver. (Aim at the driver door)

how fast/far can you throw a cotton ball

now what about a golf ball?

Oddly the heavy shoots faster despite having lower rate of fire.

Grenade is actually the more powerful explosive, sticky bombs just have better utility.

This! Heavy Sniper puts out so much more damage! I just wish the enemies were visible for a longer distance..

Uhhhhh is a 7.62 better for distance shooting???? Are you high? A 7.62 has a more stable trajectory over a distance up to 800 meters (certain load push it to 900) but by no mean is it more accurate over a distance hence why the .50 is a snipers best friend for any material sniping over 700 meters. But thanks for your input

There is a reason a .50 round can be used to engage a long range target over 1000 meters away, the 7.62 doesnt hold a candle to that.

Can't really tell the difference between the two tbh but I did manage once to snipe a tank driver with the heavy. Where exactly do we have to aim?

The .50 cal Heavy Sniper is a OHK (One hit Kill) on any player not wearing body armor or has more health than normal due to a high level.

Unless you play stealth, it is better in every way to the regular sniper rifle. That's from someone who actually has and uses both regularly. Unlike most people who are trying to base their answers to this post with single player or "educated guesses."

I only use the heavy now 6 shot in decent succession and can take out someone even wearing light body armor the stealth aspect applys to team death match however if its 4v4 I find the heavy to be better but you just gotta move cuz you will show on radar for a sec. Butonce again heavy is my fav.

I shot a player in the head while he was driving an entity, the bullet went through another car and you could see the cracks in the wall from the bullet

Heavy sniper
