Lester's locate car?

I don't get this. Yes he locates a car but it's always clear across the map. Has anyone gotten any use from this feature?

Oh and also sometimes it's not even a car. A few times it's been a fourwheeler. I would at least think that Lester would locate you a nice car. Just don't get it when your sourrounded by cars, wanted level or not.

It doesn't make any sense to me at all. I can't select a certain type of vehicle I want him to locate. He just picks something random. And it's never close to me. I can just jack any car driving by much easier. I don't understand this Lester feature at all.

Yeah this feature has always confused me about its purpose... When it was first unlocked I thought I'd get to choose the car or the type of car... But nooooo. Its a useless feature just jack the closest thing

Not sure if this is real, but i get a bounty for stealing random NPC cars, so i think the vehicles lester locate won't get you a random bounty.

Sorry for my bad english.

I think the purpose is that you don't have to steal a car, meaning no random bounty or cops going after you because Lester did some magic to make it act as a personal for a temporary period of time.. or something. But, yeah, it's much easier to just jack a car.

These cars that he locates, would they have been there anyway regardless of whether you called him or not? If they are semi-rare, it could be worth doing it a few times to simply learn where interesting vehicles spawn.

most of the times, he locate a four wheeler in the city, so i think its quite rare.

Ok, but do those 4 wheeler's normally spawn in the city regardless of whether you called him or not?

I think it only spawn when you call him, because i haven't seen ANY four wheeler's in the city

(Not confirmed)

The first time I used it, a car showed up on the map very close to where I was. I thought that it would be useful if my mechanic was being a douche and I didn't want to steal a car and risk getting a bounty.

I've tried it a few times since and every single time, the car is on the other side of the map. It seems completely useless because I could just steal something or walk a little and re-try my mechanic.

Well ignoring the function of convenience then, has anyone had any luck getting some rare vehicles from calling him in this way?

I'm really interested to hear from someone who has figured this sh*t out and actually takes full advantage of this feature.

Ugh, this useless feature, it would be nice if the player got to at least CHOOSE the type of car we want Lester to find(Muscle, Sports Classic, Off-Road, etc).

Maybe it is for cop chases? If they spot you in a stolen vehicle, I suppose they will start chasing you again. However if you leave their line of sight and enter one of Lester's vehicles, maybe you can drive around and the cops who are looking for you won't bother you, letting you lose the wanted level.

Sounds ridiculous if you are on a 4-wheeler though. Does anyone know exactly how changing vehicles helps remove you're wanted level?

Remember this thread the next time you have to jump out of an aircraft to avoid dying to some jet's missile, and end up stranded on foot in the wilderness. Being able to spawn a car semi-nearby probably won't seem that bad.

I'll also remember how Lester will place the vehicle on the other end of the map too.

THIS.

I had this exact thing happen to me. I was out in the desert, the only thing near me was a few trailers. I called Lester, and BING! A rebel appears by the trailers (I swear it wasn't there before) and I have a ride back to the city instead of having to hotfoot it for about 10 minutes.

I think it's for those times when you want to find a car.

Yeah, it helps you find a car, but he always picks a random location like 2 miles from you to some random car.

Sometimes a very useless car. I don't understand the point of this feature. It is so redundant. You could just jack a car beside you if you're near a road.

I thought it was going to be more usefull and tie in with the cars simeon wanted so you could spend a little to locate the one you wanted and make profit by selling it off.

Edit: Used it once when stranded, trecked it to the vehicle which was a riot van, returned it immediately. Never used it since.

That kind defeats the randomness of Simeon's vehicle hunts though.

I guess its sorta like the taxi service without the skip trip feature, only the "taxi" spawns randomly. I still think its to do with wanted level.

Lol yeah. Or I can just stand exactly where I am, call Merryweather, and have a helicopter arrive at my exact location in about 15 seconds.

Yeah, I guess. But I've never had that f*cker land that fast. And a couple of times he's just hovered in the air, doing jack sh*t.

It's an option man, one you obviously don't HAVE to use, but it's there if you feel like it, and that's pretty rad by me.
