(And to be honest, I'd totally do it myself once or twice just to see it in action, but then I'd hang it up, because freezing people's boxes in a game where saving is not always guaranteed, I'd feel like a huge douche holster.)

Your camera most likely has a front facing camera. USE IT.

 

And if not, turn it around and put the timer on.

I was using the tow truck earlier to steal people's vehicles at LSC, worked well and no one froze. The only issue anyone had was that driving too fast in the tow truck would make the attached car come off. Other than that, there was quite a lot of hilarity to witness. The best part was probably when someone brought their tank out to destroy the tow truck, only to have the mechanic bring it back to me thirty seconds later.
