So is there seriously no permanent mute option?

I'm tired of listening to 10 year old children and the French screaming over the microphone through my TV. Is there any way to mute people quickly and permanently? I know you can on Xbox but I have a PS3.

Start>Online>Players>mute? Pretty sure it should be the same on both consoles.

The problem is I can still hear people even after choosing this.

Thanks. I didn't notice this but was hoping for more of a blanket mute that would just turn off all chat.

try and switch to a new session after that. should work. sometimes it just doesn't change until it saves and starts a new session. worked for me earlier, and it stayed permanently muted no matter how many sessions i changed/turned the game off.

My chat is set to no-one all the time, and I still hear people despite changing sessions.
