Off Road Vehicles

Do they actually help when off roading?

'I have to say my fully modded Entity XF destroys them when off roading and hill climbing and it doesn't even have off road tyres. Which begs the question; do off road tyres even do anything!

I think it comes down to a lot of different things, not just tires. Suspension, acceleration, etc. Because my rebel seems to do it's best off-roading on diamond-encrusted SUV wheels. It's quite the start contrast from its beaten and battered paintjob, but I like to think of it as off-roading with style.

It's just a shame better mechanics was not used when off roading. Completley puts me off wanting an off road vehicle although I do have a fully modded Sand King but it cant touch the Entity off roading. It's sad when I want to go off roading I grab the Entity lol

When you say off road i take it you mean dirt roads? can't see how the Entity doesn't flip and fall to pieces once you start going over the rocks at full speed.

The BF injector isn't bad off road. I got to drive the snow Rancher around a little just recently and found out it's a lot better over all.

Yeah what the guy above me said.... I think the proper off-road type cars would sh*t all over the sport type cars when it comes to the big rocks and what not.

But for the dirt roads I don't think it matters if you have a race car or an off-road car.... shame.

When I say off road I mean ANYTHING which isn't on a road. Hill climbing, jumping etc the Entity is far better than any off road vehicle.

My Entity is fully modded and it takes any abuse you can give it off road. The only thing off road vehicles have over it is getting over larger rocks but that's only applies to the off road vehicles with higher ground clearance eg, BIG wheels.

Such a shame really. If anyone doesn't belive the Entity is better, join me on PS3 now in your 'off road' vehicle and lets do some testing :)

I believe it. The game allows supercars to easily traverse off road terrain even though they shouldn't be able to. Their speed gets them to climb hills faster than off road vehicles.

It's weird that I'm more comfortable off roading in super cars than I am off road vehicles, lol.

It's just a shame really as I'm an off road fan and would love to try all the off road vehicles out to see which is best but there's no point as the Entity destroys them all.

My offer still stands if anyone wants to come on PS3 now to try it out. My PSNID is my username on here!

While super cars do tackle hills and whatnot quite nicely...the handling is atrocious. I take my Entity off road most times when going after bounties and I climb the hills and valleys nicely, but I'm sliding all over the place the entire time. Doing the same with an actual off-road vehicle may be slower, but the traction and handling are 100x better, obviously.

I'll agree the entity does slide but it's easily controllable. Hill climbing and the like isn't effected in anyway. Hell, I have 'high end' tyres on my car (basically racing slicks) and they grip just the same as the 'off road' tyres :(

The strange thing is that I find most actual off-road vehicles seem to flip over way easier than normal cars. I've seen little advantage to using them. The few times I may have made it over a rock hardly make up for the slower nature and tendency to flip that come with driving a purely off-road vehicle. Although it doesn't bother me that regular cars do just fine off road. It's a game and I want it to be fun and it wouldn't be fun if I couldn't take my normal cars up the mountain just to see how far I could launch them.

Yeah, I've been strongly considering getting rid of my BF Injector and Sandking...I almost never even take them out of my garage anymore. The only time I take my Sandking out is when I'm trolling and need a huge vehicle to block an entrance/exit.

I have a fully modded SandKing and it's erm... crap to say the least. Never use it, just sits in the garage looking tough.

Well Scorchers can climb steeper hills than any other Vehicle in the game :p

Though in all seriousness I agree. Though I like the Sultan best, it's 4WD and when fully upgraded it's very fast and the Acceleration is outstanding. Is the Entity 4WD? A lot of people think only Off-roaders are 4WD, though even in real life 4WD is very popular with fast cars.

Why don't you try real off roading?
Rock crawling and flex points, and climbing obsticles slowly.

The entire point of four wheel driving is to keep your car in tact, not destroyed.
Preferably in the state you had it when you left your garage.

I own a Nissan Patrol, and go fourby in real life all the time, so I know what I'm on about.

In real life you don't actually just scream up the side of a mountain or hit flex points and rock traps at 50k's.

I have maybe like six buddies and we actually go for real four wheel drives in game.
It's really fun because we all try different things and really challenge the driver and the vehicle.

I can tell you right now, in a 4x4 situation, the Karin Rebel sh*ts over anything you bring to the table, second being the off road Canis Mesa.

I'd love to try out a Rancher if anybody has one? :)
