However, I do agree with them removing the toture scene. I didn't enjoy that at all and it didn't need to be in the game. I would have much rather had a mission where Mr K is followed or the target guy (I can't remember his name) was traked through one of the characters phone. I have also played Japanese versions of Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA IV+both expansions, and all have been censored to some extent. I agree that Japan does produce some really messed up stuff from a western perspective, but none of this is mainstream and is frowned upon by the general population. However, GTA is somewhat popular among gamers and I've even seen commercials for GTA V on TV. Also, there is a game rating system in place, but I think the ratings for console games are fairly strict because they are widely considered to be "children's toys". PC games are generally for adults, and the ratings are more lax. As far as I know PC versions of GTA have not been censored. In general, sexually explicit content is not tolerated in console games, so most of the censorship has affected sexual scenes. Only very extreme violence seems to be censored. The censorship hasn't affected the enjoyment of GTA V for me. The changes are very minimal compared to what they did to San Andreas. In San Andreas no pedestrians ever dropped money, and whenever you use your gun, even with no police officers around, you got a warning level, among many other pointless changes. P.S.
