Friendly Intentions Signal

I know most players have a healthy distrust of other players in freeroam.

But i like to offer my helicopter services from time to time or my getaway car for robbers. Yet it is very hard to overcome the distrust since most players adopt a shoot first, ask later policy.

Therefor it would be easy if there was something as a Friendly Intentions signal.

if player A approaches player B, player A can invoke the signal. this would establish a small no arms zone around the player. this zone would prevent both players from firing their guns at eachother.

Player B has then the choice: either accept the signal or refuse it. if he refuses the no arms zone would be upheld untill he is out of the zone (which remains centered on the offering player) or after a short time (ie 10 seconds). This would allow both players to safely back away.

When players accept the signal and start to cooperate, there should be a limited (ingame) time during which both players can not kill eachother on punishment of bad sports or bounty.

Also to prevent players from spamming the signal, each player should only be allowed to use the signal a limited number of times during an ingame day (ie 3 times a day)

What do you guys think of such a system?

This is just retarded. You can simply explain your intentions through your microphone. There's no need to have some ridiculous thing where stuff pops up in some zone for ten seconds and then people get little options to press and do different things.

Basically you are trying to enhance the passive mode already in place that does nothing to prevent people from killing you!

Just like that, I am sure people will find a way to abuse it... Luring someone into the heli and then abandoning while at a great height springs to mind, pre-emptively putting sticky bombs on vehicles... Etc etc.

The best way is to actually send a message to or chat with people to do it. Join a crew, play with friends, part up etc etc.

Because everyone has a mic, right? Sorry, my mommy and daddy didn't buy me one for my birthday.

I try to text players in-game when they come close so they know I'm non-com.

When I drive up to someone to offer a lift its up to them to decide if i'll attack or not. They kill me the first time and I'll continue to demolish them till they rage quit.

My first intention is always friendly.

You can also do the old double-tap on the horn.

You can spend twenty dollars on a simple device to communicate in an online video game, as well. I'm not entirely sure why you'd even want to play an online game if you have no way of communicating with other people playing. It seems like it'd be single player with less to do and a random set of fifteen people who try to kill you all the time.

You're playing a $60 game on an $XXX console but pleading poverty over a $10 headset?

I already did something like this. simpler and less retarded then yours.

The only thing about it that's "like this" is that your idea is also silly and would just be a waste of Rockstar's resources to pander to a few particular people with specific and small complaints.

This.. I have no intention to kill and offer people free lifts to cruise around etc.

If they open fire or kill me, I'll just fk them up the rest of the game until I eventually get bored..

what I do to let people know I am friendly is one of 3 things

1.shoot them in the head 3 times to let em know I am friendly

2. if I am driving I run them over then spin out on there heads to let them know im friendly

3 if I am flying I normly cut them up with the blades to let them know I am friendly

My friendly intentions gesture is to pull my gun out and point it at you.

That is mine as well. The not-so-friendly gesture is the part where I pull the trigger... Over and over and over
