The lame explorer - jetpack by save hacking

Couldn't you do the same thing by force changing the weapon you are holding in a save?

I guess, but so far I've only focused on vehicles

The saved game format is pretty crazy.. Hope weapons are as easy

But won't you have needed to have flown a jetpack at least once for this to work? Can you spawn a vehicle using this method that you've never been in?

I've posted the video of a skylift helicopter (the skinny one, look above)

I've never been in one before.. Never even noticed that they exist in the game before I spawned it by accident

Excellent, i didn't know that. I assumed the heli was from some Heist I'd forgotten about. Fullspeed ahead, Comrade!

Ok. Give me a quick tutorial on this program. Got the save opened.

This really helped me

But the real search will have to be done with a hex editor ;) not the program

What hex value needs to be edited? I've never done this before but I want to help.

So apparently this has already been done. This guy has a list of all of the vehicles:

We need to move on to weapons.

EDIT: Also, this tool can edit vehicles and weapons without much hassle:

this is great, what else can you spawn? Why don't you start with weapons,it's gonna be faster.Jetpack is most likely categorized as a weapon like the parachute.

But this is all very interesting,I'm curious to know if this can lead to some sort of in game modding, like spawning weapons that are story only, changing your default vehicle to something else etc.If there is such possibility I might as well jump in.

haha what you posted unfortunately seems to be the proof that the jetpack doesn't exist :(:(

In the files there are two suspicious aircraft called SPSMALL and SPMED, they're lighter than the hotknife and as agile as the fighter jet. No one knows what they are, apparently.

Source: http://www.reddit.com/r/chiliadmystery/comments/1pa84c/notes_from_going_though_source_files/

Their weapons are classified as "Enemy Laser" taboot. Very odd, just wondering if these can be swapped in somehow? I'm not into save state editing, so I don't know where to begin..,Figured any lead is a good lead.

I don't know if it was already mentioned, but the jetpack isn't considered as a vehicle but a weapon (If there's one) like in SA. So it will not be so easy..

Why would this matter in the least bit? V and SA have completely different game engines. Just because its technically a weapon in SA doesn't mean it HAS to be in V.

I don't know what this guy did and how

Did he get the car carrier from the luxury car mission? (my last vid)

Anyways, the plan I have in mind is pretty thorough and I think it's a good idea to still go through with it

Also, my method is not going through your garage, it changes the vehicle you are currently in

One more thing, someone on reddit found references in the game files to a few planes that nobody has ever seen. We could try to spawn them:

Quote:

I didn't even mention the 3 other planes listed here: HIND, NAPALM and SCAMP. Although I think these maybe were dropped from the game because they don't have any handling identifiers in another list like the rest of the planes have. SPMED and SPSMALL could still just be variations of some other aircraft, (specifically a plane), but I can't can't figure out which

I know this is a little far fetched, but I wonder if anyone has ever considered the jetpack to be programmed not as a weapon or as a vehicle, but as a "player state"

For example, when you are in stealth mode, the game identifies you as being in the "stealth state", now I don't know how the code is handled to ID you as stealth, or

as heavy armored like in the Paledo bank robbery to make you walk slow

Player states may also apply to being drunk or high. I can't think of any other player states the game uses, but it's something to consider.

Edit: Another relation might be the parachute. How is the parachute programmed into the game? Perhaps the jetpack's alleged existence is coded similar to the parachute.

The youtube videos by the modders really helped, and we were able to find the list of vehicle hashes that they were able to discover:

http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/gta-v-vehicle-hashes-list.988584/

As you can see, they have a hex code which corresponds to a vehicle name.

The hex code is 4 bytes long, meaning there are 2^32 possible combinations = 4 billion

Since they didn't try to guess codes (this is crazy..), they probably went to the game files and poked around until they've assembled this list. We have no guarantee that the list is complete since we don't know where it came from

We can put in the save file any code we can think of and see if it works.. and we can try codes that don't appear in this list as well

I hoped the vehicle numbering scheme will be easy to follow (like consecutive numbers), so we could guess numbers at the edges.. but the list just goes all over the place

If someone can make sense of the numbering scheme, maybe we can make educated guesses of codes which aren't listed. Here's the list just in case:

Another gem, just spawned the skylift helicopter (didn't even know it existed)

Is this used at any time during the game? If it's not, how did you and the guy who made that other list find it? Does it lift cars like the cargobob?

If Dune is the Space Docker, what is Dune 2?

Anyway, good idea, keep digging!

I thought this last night so tested it out and dune 2 is in fact the space docker! tools like this could be useful if you've lost yours as you can spawn loads if you want!

I think i wasn't clear. I've read that "Dune" was the space docker,, and you're saying that Dune 2 is the space docker as well? So, why 2 codes for the same vehicle? Are they different?

The codename for this vehicle is skylift. It was mentioned in some game file related posts so I spawned it to see what it is. If you search YouTube for gta 5 skylift you will find someone mentioning it is found in game in a mission and it can pick stuff up like the cargobob

cargo plane- back end textures missing- still works

Freight-train - sits in midair till you exit it then gravity takes over - not operateable

metro-train - same as the freight train

Policeold1 - north yankton cruiser (from the prolougue mission)

Policeold2 - North yankton police SUV (from the prologue mission)

These interested me:

-asea2 (Snowy Asea)

-cargobob2 (Possibly from Merryweather heist, Offshore way)

-cargobob3 (Unknown.)

-buzzard2 (Unknown)

-freightcar (All are Freightcars, but I'm curious to see how they spawn)

-freightcont1
-freightcont2

(P.S did North Yankton cruisers have any name? Are they drivable?)

asea2 - just a patrol car from north yankton - no lights

cargobob 2 - cargobob with livery from the humane labs mission

cargobob 3 - cargobob owned by trevor, used in the merryweather heist i believe

buzzard 1 - buzzard without weapons

buzzard 2 - buzzard with weapons

freightcar, cont1 and cont2 - all spawn the same as the metro train and freight train engine

north yankton cruisers are policeold 1 which is the cruiser from yankton and policeold 2 which is the policetruck from yankton
